'Curiously, the are very rarely seen taking flight and prefers to simply let the wind carry them from place to place as they gently glide on the aircurrents. They are those that say that Far'asol manipulates the wind in order to do so and that they are to blame for the rapidly changing weather in Jakar but so far nobody has been able to prove it.'

'They gather in groups where disasters are waiting to happen and the number of birds seems to correlate to the scale of the event at hand. Folkstories describe Far'asol as malevolent spirits, born from those that preyed on the victims of circumstance.'

The evolution of Jakarian Farfetch'd, one that has been my personal favorite design amongst all of the concepts that I made.

The idea of a Farfetch'd-evolution has always been really appealing to me and judging from the amount of cool ideas I have seen floating around on Deviantart and Pinterest, I am clearly not the only one. So when I heard news about Farfetch'd finally was going to get an evolution in Sword and Shield, I was kind of hyped to see what they would come up with. But I was really disappointed by Sir'fetched, at least in terms of design.

This might sound a bit insulting to some, but Sir'fetched feels more like a fakemon than some actual fakemon that I have seen online. I get that it is meant to tie in with the shield-theme, but they barely did anything with the actual pokemon other than coloring it white and instead thought that just giving it a bigger sword was all they needed to do to make it an evolution. I know that this probably isn't the case and that my designs are not always the most creative either, but the design feels very lazy to me.

But anyway, back on topic.

I will be completely honest: this design was heavily inspired by Aknosom from Monster Hunter: Rise, hence all the fire-moves in its moveset. The shiny-colors are a direct give-away.

What can I say? Monster Hunter is my favorite game-series, even more than Pokémon. And its influence might bleed through in other places as well (even when I don't mean to...)

But the silouette was actually kicking around long before that. I really wish that I could show it to you, I might be able to do so in the future but right now I can't afford a Core-membership, but I still have my original sketch from several years ago. Just to give you an idea of how much the concept has changed since its original inception.

From the very first conception, I had the idea of stuff like night-herons and hamerkops that uses its wings to create shadows underbeath it that would lure in fish for easy pickings and mixing that with the straw/rain-motif that I established with Farfetch'd. Eventually, I stumbled over the idea of making Far'asol a scavanger that takes advantage of its ghostly powers in order to feed on the victims of disasters and it just clicked. It fit in so well with all the other themes and given that there aren't that many scavengers in Pokemon, I felt like it was an interesting addition to the Jakar pokedex.

I just love the way that Far'asol came out and it might be one of my favorite fakemon that I have ever made.
