Description FINALLY!

after weeks of blood, sweat, and tears, iv finally completed my photoshoped version of the hydralisk!!

it took so long mainly because i got distracted by a crap ton of things........and loads upon loads of editing the original line art.

some things i forgot to add were things like spikes on the back, but i decided to forget about them and just finish the pic (it would have been a tremendous pain to get the spikes on, sad im too lazy to do it T_T.)

probably the first pic i put so much effort in, and i think i did pretty good.

cant wait till i get a tablet....gonna make things so much easier XD.

enjoy.

the hydralisk and starcraft 2 is owned by blizzard entertainment

yeah, my first real photoshop project, took me weeks to finish lol.

i was so fed up with it, i didn't bother correcting the mistakes around his abdomen area.

I'd do the same after a few weeks. I don't do well
with extended projects myself so seeing as you would
get fed up with this is completely understandable.

Wow that is EPIC and you've improved in leaps and bounds! Great coloring, and well I'm clueless as to Starcraft lore so it looks awesome to me!

thanks ^_^.

yeah this was one of the first pics i really put much effort into getting it through photoshop, i watch loads of speed paints and stuff as to get a feel for how coloring should go down.

also the first pic i really went crazy with layers....everything basically had its own layer, the shading, the head, the ribs, 1 layer dedicated to the upper lighting, 1 dedicated to the lower, etc., just made stuff a whole lot easier.

Yep I do that too, with the relatively-obsessive amount of layers. Although the last pic, I kept colors for each character on their own layer (one for one char, one for another) as opposed to breaking it down to clothing items or actual individual colors (done that too but I knew it was excessive for the project). Then I did other layers similarly, one per character (shading, etc). I also will tend to just make a new layer when trying something (like additional shading/lighting) that I'm not sure about. If I already know I like what's on the current layers, I don't wanna mess them up.

Ah, the joys of learning digital coloring. The invention of layers reeeally made a huge difference to that particular media (and I'm still using Photoshop 5.5 ).
