"Yes, young half-gem. I am the one gem whose defection brought great shame to the Diamonds. They were the Judge and Jury. I, alone, was the executioner. They are diplomats, tacticians, and monarchs. I was the Lord of Homeworld's Dark Network of Spies, Thieves, and Murderers.

I ...am...Black Diamond."

As I wait in anticipation of the new Steven Universe episodes, I found myself watching videos of possible diamonds, such as a Black Diamond and a diamond Fusion named Paragon. So, with my sketchbook and Medibang Paint Pro, I made this scene.

Black Diamond is the "youngest" of the Diamonds, with her emerging centuries after the last one. Like human children, Black Diamond learned by following the examples of her fellow Diamonds. When Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond, Black Diamond left Homeworld in secret to capture Rose and bring her back, knowing that she would have the honor of shattering the traitorous quartz.

But when she got to Earth and kept to the shadows, Black Diamond saw the beauty of the planet for the first time. This made her question everything the Diamonds have taught her.

Upon finding Rose, instead of capturing her, she held a civil conversation with her, learning why she did it. At the end of it, Black Diamond returns to Homeworld to convince her fellow Diamonds to leave the Earth be.

Needless to say, things got really heated and Black Diamond became a traitor.

During the Rebellion, Black Diamond, who claimed the deserted underbelly of Homeworld as her new home, aided the Rebellion by providing information that only Diamonds have access to. After the Rebellion, she remains to tend to the defected and discarded gems.

This fan-made scene shows Steven meeting Black Diamond after he and Lars escape the trial.
