Black and White version ofi really liked how she looked like an old photo
I made this in between things as my first entry for the Character Design Challenge thats held monthly on patreon and facebook!

Ive been wanting to participate for months, just never had the time.
This month's theme was Venetian Masquerade.
My character is a venetian siren that lives in the canals beneath the city.
She collects the fallen masks, ribbons, and treasures from the party goers above!

I can't help but wonder about who took the photo and how (s)he managed to persuade her to pose, even though she's clearly bored.
(And a teeny part of me wonders if she even knows what the cup is for - they aren't any use underwater after all, except as a kind of hand-holdable pot with no lid - but it's shiny and maybe that's enough 
So, small glimpse into my head - apologies for that, but this picture is lovely and fired up my imagination

you know, I thought about all that after the fact ! maybe a downstairs part of a Venetian building actually has glass windows that peer int the canal 
The Goblet is her Dinglehopper! She hardly knows how to use it, but she finds it curious and beautiful. I imagine she peeks over the docks at the masqueraders and imitates their merry-making
I dooooo like that transformation idea though... hmmm... I may have to work on this character later!

Or picture some steampunk Venetian monster-hunter maybe in a bronze diving suit with a camera contraption? He'd be a Jonathon perhaps, or some very adventurous name that barely seems real (like, for example, "Indiana" >_> ). Maybe he collects monster heads for the Gentlemen Adventurers' Club but then has a change of heart for some reason... (I know, horribly cliché but still fun!).
I find the idea of her peeking at the party-goers and pretending she's one of them to be both sweet and sad (and a little bit creepy).
All in all: it's fantastic in every sense of the word! Great job on this
