Description The light flashed in your ear-
ring. You know, the one that
you bent, hitting your head
against my shoulder.
That silver hoop, I know
exactly where it's dented.
I've got it memorized
Like your gem-cutting eyes.

You returned hope to me,
from Pandora's box.
It took wing, through the air
Alighting on my arm.
It spread warmth through every
cell. Like spears of sunlight
Through dissipating mists
Lighting my winding path.

There was something about
your laughter lines; that kiss
in the corner of your mouth:
infinitely familiar.
Comforting, like that
poster above my bed
that I see as I wake
and as I drift to sleep.
