The beggars on street corners
The druggies and the families
Working hard at moving forward

There's no decieving glamour
Or signs of tending well
This is the resting place of fallen gods
Sweet merciful hell

It is the slums we never see
Where those fallen from grace
Hit the bottom of the pit
Mortality's true face

But where we turn a blind eye
Can be found humanity's best
They've seen it all but still stand strong
The true of heart have passed the test

Still we hide from our dark side
The primal and the instincts
But these are those who have embraced
Both the angels and the demons

It is in these gutters
On these sidelines we so fear
Humanity comes most alive
We are welcome
And now we're here

So enjoy all the pleasures
Every horror you've ever dreamed
For once you're there
You can't go back
To being the human you have seemed.
