Description Speedpainting: Sea of Stars

One piece of knowledge (among many) that I have learned from my professional "jobs" is that while being detail-oriented/perfectionistic is fine, that it is downright impossible to sometimes put out "perfect" work in a compressed time schedule. Therefore: you sort of have to balance your intentions/goals, and what is realistic, and find some sort of pleasant, effective medium. This applies to everything: research, paperwork, creative tasks, organization... EVERYTHING.

That said: I remember when I used to paint digital realism. It was very satisfying after many-a-belabored hour spent on a single piece, but so many times I coudln't help but wonder what else I might have been able to do, learn, or create in the (hefty) amount of time that such work took.

Therefore, it seems as a direct response to that (and a reduced amount of "free time"), I've been doing a lot more "looser" work when I DO get the chance to do art. It also seems to produce more, perhaps, emotive work as well.

This piece definitely counts as that.

About 4 hours in Photoshop CS2 and Painter 8.

Thanks so much! This is probably one of my favorite speedpaintings that I've done, so I'm glad you like the painting and title both.

Its funny how I love your speed paintings and your more involved ones as well, but there is something so much more liberating in these quick pieces that are fluid and inspirational. <3

I definitely enjoy my speed-painting style pieces quite a lot. I'm going to try to intermix them with my more involved pieces since it seems that the quicker ones at their best have quite a bit of emotion to them. I'm so glad you like this one. <3

I'm glad to see you doing more art, and pushing yourself to do things you're not used to doing (i.e. speedpainting). :3 It's beautiful!

Are you still up at home?
