This was drawn in homage to the cartoon show where they seemed to get along, but with a bit of the movie twist to it. I had heard that Michael Keaton proposed to Tim Burton that another one be made but I guess that isn't going to happen. Would have been nice to see what he could do nowadays.

It'd sure be cool, even if it was just animated, I'm sure Burton could do some amazing things with an animated film that knew it's target grew up with this movie instead of throwing in humor that doesn't fit to get a modern 'older' audience or castrating it to make it 'child friendly.' I'm gonna cut the tirade I started to type to a few words. I grew up with, and even now they still make, cartoons for children that are more mature than movies sometimes even aimed at young teens. Anyway, I'd DEFINITELY want to see a sequel in some form, I know Keaton had an energy in that performance that I'm sure would come across just as well animated if they went that way. Anyway, us oldboys can always hope, eh? Back to the picture before I post this and people skip over it mumbling about how long it is, I'm a terrible person, but I love how you paid tribute to both with that bit of perversion AND her enjoyment thereof. Let me know if you plan on doing more sketches like this, if so, I'll definitely be following you~.

I really appreciate your comments. Very thought driven and not just your typical "OOooo.. that looks pretty!" I would agree that a modern twist on the tale would be nice to see but at the same time fear the dumbing down of it to satisfy people with a 'simpler' taste in movies and its sad that hollywood seems to be afraid to really get behind original works that aren't completely family friendly. Thank you Sundance for getting some really good stuff out there. And where I live, they rarely get some really good movies that aren't widely accepted by test audiences. But alas let me cut my tirade short by saying that I am a busy tattoo artist and finding free time to really delve into my odd sketch work is few and far inbetween. Its sad and I wish I had more time. But again, thank you for the kind words.

*Grins.* I know exactly what you mean, they'd rather produce something they can throw at as many people as possible with no lasting impact than make something truly good it seems. Tattoo artistry does sound like it must be fun, especially in a good setting. I know a couple of guys who do some pretty good, though basic stuff. I finally got one not too long ago, just some simple stitching as I wasn't sure what to expect and wanted something I could power through in under thirty minutes in case it was as bad as I was expecting. I always psych myself out WAY to much on how bad something's gonna hurt. Anyway, digressing. I'll keep an eye out in case you have more to offer in the future and we can all hope for an actual sequel to Beetlejuice and pray they don't drop a Hollywood deuce. Huh, I like that, gonna have to remember it and will secretly hope it catches on~. Anyway, take care and enjoy~.

Tattooing is a fun gig to a degree. Most of my coworkers are fun in their way. Some are pretty drab. But overall I try and have fun when I can. And I stay pretty busy so yeah. I will post more soon. I just do not have steady internet access so I am limited as to what and when i can respond and upload artwork. Take care and yes, lets hope the hollywood deuce machine stays empty.

hey by the way, I found that the first time when Betljuice came out on ABC (later on Fox, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon) was in 1989.

My birth year!
But I saw it on Cartoon Network... I'm from Argentina, so that was hte only channel that was seen.

kittygrrl23 In reply to Dreekzilla [2006-04-06 21:02:52 +0000 UTC]

<.< yeeeeah i probably wouldnt want to give it up...the piggie was supposed to be for my mom, btw. unfortunately one of the things about crocheting without patterns is that i forget to write things down as i do them so im not sure if i could pull off making more than one, and unfortunately its not the cheapest hobby in the world. i could be persuaded monetarily though *lol*

just curious but what kind of 'crazy' look would you want?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dreekzilla In reply to kittygrrl23 [2006-04-07 08:37:58 +0000 UTC]

What sort of monetary are we talkin here and crazy.. well.. I am a tattoo artist.. so maybe a patchwork fella.. different colors and such. button eyes ... just odd stuff. One of a kind, unique thing. How big are they usually.. size wise that is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kittygrrl23 In reply to Dreekzilla [2006-04-09 11:05:28 +0000 UTC]

well just to give you an idea, the yarn used to make the piggie was worth over $30, not including shipping (which is unfortunately an arm and a leg for me). i <3 body art
a patchwork fella would be hard to do if i were crocheting or knitting...if you dont mind something being handsewn im sure it could work though. as far as size, piggie is the only plushie ive made (excluding a bear i made when i was like 8)...and she's aboooout 9in long, 6in tall, and 4.5in at the widest, going on visual measurement.

Dreekzilla In reply to kittygrrl23 [2006-04-09 21:15:52 +0000 UTC]

So all in all.. how much is it worth to you to make something like a patchwork elephant? I mean.. hell.. it'd be a one of a kind thing. That would rock ass. I loved the eyepatch on the piggie too. LOL.. i have a photo of me with pigtails and an eyepatch. If I can figure out how to get it off my phone and onto here.. I will post it on my page sometime.

kittygrrl23 In reply to Dreekzilla [2006-04-10 06:17:33 +0000 UTC]

now im confused do you want an elephant or a fella? *lol*

i honestly dont even know how much it would cost me personally...how about this- ill go ahead and start working on a crocheted patchwork elephant. ill post some pictures during construction and when its finished, and if you like it we can work something out that way

that would be great
