Frog had told Amaruq in her youth to choose her battles wisely, but such wisdom did not truly stick until sometime after she struck her out on her own. Her reality check would come in the form of the short-tempered Sandbar, who did not take kindly to strangers, and just like Ama did not back away from a challenge. With the rain howling around them on Isla Kela's northern shores, Amaruq quickly finds herself cornered—the wild seas behind her and an angry Sandbar in front—and she briefly wonders if maybe she'd bitten off a bit more than she could chew this time.
