After everything that went down, the kingdom of Mewni finally had its true queen back. Queen Eclipsa, along with her daughter Meteora and husband Globgor, reclaimed her throne from Star Butterfly before she and her friends went on an adventure to find the missing Butterfly, Moon.

After she was rescued from the Realm of Magic, they had no place to call home. Since Eclipsa isn`t heartless, she allowed Star, Moon, and River keep their noble statuses and keep living in the castle. They lived like a big, happy family. And they had one mission: fix the relations between the monsters and rest of the kingdom.

It wasn`t easy. Most of Mewni was pretty accepting after learning monsters aren`t that dangerous but the other kingdoms and Magic High Commission were against the whole mission, growing seeds of tension and conflict. The royal family tried to protect the monsters and their kingdom but they didn`t succeed all the time. What also didn`t help was the rise of anti-monster groups within the kingdom, creating violent protests and terrorizing rest of the citizens for accepting the monsters. This went on for years. And one night, they went too far.

One night, 12 years after Eclipsa came back to power, the anti-monster movement leader broke into the castle, with the help of someone inside, and assassinated Princess Meteora in her sleep.

This was a huge blow to the Butterfly family. Eclipsa was so heartbroken she didn`t want to continue ruling and wanted to pass down the crown to Star. But Star was already 26, past the time to be crowned normally, and the only way she can be eligible to the throne is to be married. Since she wasn`t seeing anyone at the time, she asked her best friend Marco to be her husband. He agreed.

That didn`t turn out so well. Everyone was convinced they were the perfect couple even when Star and Marco saw each other only as friends. But they played along. With the way the kingdom was, the people needed something positive, hope. And the newly married and crowned king and queen were going to provide that, no matter how much it affected their personal relationship. All the pretending and forced to be together strained their once strong friendship and now Star and Marco only tolerate each other. They want to go back to being best friends, just partners in crime but pretending to be in love has made things awkward and uncomfortable for them, resulting in a messy and toxic relationship.

But they did have a child, a son. He became the new heir. But unfortunately, he hated monsters. He spent a lot of time with the Commission growing up and that shaped his worldview greatly. He is bitter and spiteful towards them.

What didn`t help was Star`s affair with the king of the Underworld, Tom. The affair began shortly after her son turned one. Tom was invited to the birthday party and at that party, he and Star spent a lot of time together and before they knew it they ended up in bed together. Tom knew the situation between Star and her husband and didn`t put up much resistance.

You can guess what happened next: Star got pregnant and soon after a little baby girl was born.

And that brings us today. Lilith is the bastard child of Queen Star and King Tom. She lives with her mother in the kingdom of Mewni as its princess but only in title. She is hated by her half-brother and people and avoided by her mom, her husband, and her own father. Everyone treats her poorly or avoids her, pretending she doesn`t exist. The only ones who actually care for her are Eclipsa and Globgor and even then it's only because they lost their own daughter and found a replacement. Still, its better than no kindness what so ever.

There is no way to say this nicely: Lilith is a cold, spiteful and nearly sociopathic young hybrid. She insults and talks back a lot and is quick to anger like her dad. But when you manage to break down her walls, you find a lonely girl who just wants to find a place where she belongs. She is a princess with no kingdom, rejected by all sides. Lilith spends a lot of time drawing and sparring with the guards as a coping mechanism. Her drawings often portray sad or gruesome scenes.

Lilith also has powerful magic, being the daughter of two of the most powerful people in all of the dimensions. She never got the wand but she didn`t need it. Her powers are a mix of the Butterfly family magic and demonic, dark magic.

But she always has a companion: Sapsan. He is a parasite type of creature who has been with Lilith since she was six after her brother and his friends dragged her to the Forest fo Certain Death and left her there. The young girl was lost and scared. She wandered the woods for hours and soon the moon claimed the sky. Soon, a hungry creature found her and attacked. Luckily, Sapsan was napping in a nearby tree and heard the cries of a young girl. Being a creature with a conscious, he attached himself to her and helped her fight off the attacker.

The two have been a dynamic duo ever since. Sapsan genuinely cares for his host and more than willing to help her kick anyone`s ass when they wrong her. He can transform himself into any shape that is needed in any situation. He is also quite the sassy little bugger and often responds to Lilith`s insults with his own or a sarcastic 'Thank you.'. But he knows she doesn`t really mean it. And Lilith is grateful Sapsan is there for her when she needs him.

I don`t know why but when I make stories, I like the more twisted, messy and darker ones. Like Twilight, Lilith is someone who was also raised in a hostile environment but unlike her who was still sweet and polite, Lilith is a total ice queen.
Sapsan was inspired mostly by the demon powers from the "Grim Tales from Down Below" comics but with hints of Venom and Samson from Skullgirls.
