Description
This is a Manaia, a Polynesian creature. It is believed to be a messenger between the mortal world and the spirit world. Before learning about this creature I intended to make a merchild, but I never finished it. After learning about this creature I got to work on it almost right away and made him a part of the odd art show last year. In some versions the Manaia has a head of a bird, a body of a human and a fish tail. He is made out of clay, wood, scotch tap around the wrists, and gorilla glue for water.
