Hey there!So, I mentioned in my recent journal that I was filling out a meme, in this case a video game meme. It was fun and doodly and free and everything, but sometimes I got really bored. It was hard to stay focused for some reason, perhaps because it was all purely fanart and wasn't really coming from my mind.
As a side note, I'm really happy with the Smash Bros. answer. I didn't remember how exactly to draw Fox Mcloud, but I think he looks cool.

Yeah, I might take that quote from the MMORPG question and make a shirt design to sell on RedBubble. I've just got to mull it over a bit more and think of what image would make it funny.

Ha, well, like I said, I didn't have a Wily reference near. He came out good enough, I think.
But he does kind of look like Robotnik.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I didn't beat 8. But for most of the games, it wasn't about defeating Wily so much as it was getting to him. Some of the post-robot master levels were really tough, especially the bosses. Those thing required laser-sharp precision and skill.
You see, in MM8, I got to Wily, but I didn't defeat him. Perhaps it was because he was tough (probably), or perhaps I just grew tired of it (not likely). Who knows. ;D

Yeah, I didn't like that either. The person probably doesn't know the English language very well (they certainly haven't gotten the hang of grammar, that's for sure). Still, it seemed like a fun meme, despite the bigoted use of the word "gay."
And thank you! I enjoy making doodles, but it's not something I do often. Some people really have it down to an art, though.

In France "gay" (translated! Frog-eaters pronounce "gai" [ge] and not "gay"[gei]) usually means cheerful or homosexual. "gai" is the (most?) neutral word for homosexual.
Gays used to be considered like kitsch effeminate men (well... I hope they are not considered like strange effeminate shit anymore... I hope.). I suppose that's why french say "X sounds gay ("gay" and not "gai" : it's like "rendez-vous" (french word) in english)" when they hear things which will remind them a (hackneyed) sentence taken from the worst shojo manga of the world. According to most of frenchs this is not an offensive word even if the origin of "our" word gay is kinda homophobic. We just don't think about it : I use this word too but when I say "This look so gay oo" I'm not thinking of homosexual.
But if someone says "pédé"[pede] instead of "gay" it will surely sound offensive
(pédé = another french word for "gay" which sounds more like an insult. Sometimes is neutral but homophobes usually use this word.)
I don't know how it is in other country but... maybe I've enlighten you <3

Well, I don't think homosexuality is a bad thing. But in the U.S., ignorant people (who may or may not be homophobic) use the word "gay" to describe something that is negative. For instance, let's pretend that a high school student has to wear a school uniform when he moves to a new town. He might not like that fact and might say "that's so gay."
The person who made this meme, however, was not using the word in that context. The question she asked was kind of sappy, and she (the creator of the meme) associated the word "gay" with it because it was an emotional, heartfelt question. Many straight guys are afraid to show their emotions, so they often refer to emotional things as "gay." Which is ridiculous, in my opinion.
However, the person who wrote the meme is female, so it's kind of out-of-place for her to use the word "gay" to describe that emotional question.
I dunno. It's not that big of a deal and I probably shouldn't analyze it any more than I already have, but yeah, apart from homosexuality, the word "gay" is either associated with negative things or with emotional things here in the U.S. and is more often used by straight males in those contexts. Make sense? ;D
