Hey there!My boss, Bonnie, is awesome. She bought me a $100 gift card to BP for gasoline (thought it was an appropriate gift for a new driver). So I couldn't not at least make her a piece of artwork.
See, her favorite animal is the rooster. She loves roosters. I thought she'd get a kick out of a portrait of a rooster, so I did this up and even framed it for her. I finished it on Christmas Eve Eve (the day before Christmas Eve, of course) but couldn't post it until now since it was a gift and all.
I hope you guys like it! She definitely did. ;D
Adobe Illustrator CS, probably about 2 hours including the sketch in Photoshop CS.

That is one killer Christmas present. The whole proper old school style portrait works so well with the rooster. You should get it printed on canvas and hang it over a fireplace

That would be neat, but getting stuff printed on canvas costs an arm and a leg. Still, it would look awfully important hanging over a fireplace. ;D

Thank you! That's a really big compliment! I try to use Illustrator to actually, you know, illustrate things instead of doing realistic portraits (not that that doesn't take some tremendous skill, of course).
