Wow, how did you shoot into the sun and not get any flare? What camera/lens combination did you use? Also, was this a HDR?

Love this shot! I love the intense processing. The sun is surprisingly the focal point for me. The star rays are amazing!

Wonderful image with great composition. I like how the branch in the centre keeps your eye at horizon level, as well as stops you from looking too far right. This really balances out the distant scenery with the cluttered foreground of leaves and twigs on the right hand side. The sun flare is spot on too for adding an interesting effect without being too distracting.

That must be an incredible place, the landscape looks awesome. The tree has nice shapes here and the rock on the left "balances" well the image, and adds interest in my opinion. Good job!

Incredible! Great processing of the structures and light Maybe a bit too much, but those are personal preferences. Beautiful composition!

Ah, I'm sorry. Eventually too much processing of structures and light. It looks a bit harsh and burnt out at first glance, but it's a beautiful composition nonetheless

You sure that couldn't just be the harsh light from the sun instead of the processing?

DrewHopper In reply to rjywvVSpcFNeqKks [2011-08-07 22:44:50 +0000 UTC]

Very true, the sun was harsh as this was still an hour before sunset.

Mh, you have a point there Then you definitely have a distinct approach. It just seemed altered like you see many digital DRI/HDR processed images nowadays. I guess I have to work on my perception there again

the stone on the left is like the balance that make this image great and over a lot of others. great image, great mood on it.
