It's been pretty drab for landscapes, the weather hasn't been fantastic. All the rain we've had the past couple of weeks has filled the lagoon. Today my mates dug it out, and made standing waves. For those of you who don't know what a 'standing wave' is check this [link]Anyway, just messing around here with the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM. It surprises me every time, it's a mean lens!

The standing waves look pretty awesome too. I'm guessing you just make the waves in the sand and let the water flow over them right?

Not exactly. Dig out a lagoon to the shore, let the water drain and after about 40 mins you should have some standing waves forming. Jump on with a board and ride it, pretty fun.

I haven't seen decent standing waves that we could make use of in my part of the world for aaages, I hope you took advantage and had a lot of fun.
As for the photo, I'm absolutely floored. It's so different from what we normally see from you and it's definitely a good surprise! It's so sharp, but yet so full of movement and volume, I kind of expect someone to hit the play button at any minute. A facet of your work I really like, and would love to see more of. (sorry for the lengthy reply but I'm really in love with this one!).
