Description The second of my Manifestations of Sin series.

Gluttony --> [link]

Greed---->[link]

Envy--->[link]

Wrath--->[link]

Pride--->[link]

Sloth--->[link]

Lust was a tough one. I had to revise it after my first attempt. I wanted to step away from sex with Lust, as it has to do with much more than that. I chose chains to represent desire, and Lust is one who allows itself to be pulled by all its desires, so it either gets pulled into places it would reather not be or it gets pulled apart by the conflicting desires. Lust is the chains of freedom. Lust seeks a freedom from control and responsibility by ignoring rules and living only by what it desires, in this way it finds a sort of freedom, but only by giving in and wearing the the chains of desire. What it doesn't realise is that only by taking control of itself and accepting the reality of responisbility can it free itself from the chains and gain the true freedom it seeks. Freedom is easy to find, but difficult to understand. This is the lesson of Lust.

Done in Photoshop. Used many many sources. If requested, I'll post them here.

can I use your Manifestation of Sin series in a couple of videos for you tube? I'll be sure to cite them and the video will not be monetized EVER.

Good job on staying away from sex here. Although it's one of the deepest lusts we have, it's not at all the only or the most common one.

You have a great understanding of these deadly sins, especially in the description you gave on BB about how they are ATTITUDES and not ACTIONS.

I like how the head is tossed in different directions - I would have done the same for a few limbs, but it's also good to have definition of the subject.

This is a great piece, but I would have given it a little more depth. Having a flat black/purple behind the chains makes it seem as if this is an isolated thing, which Lust is obviously not. It doesn't necessarily need to be a new thing to look at, but perhaps a bunch of thin silk curtains? (I'm thinking Prince of Persia style here) This would begin to bring in the sex theme again, but could also illustrate that lust is blinding and cannot plan for the future. Besides, the piece needn't be entirely devoid of sensuality - keeping the nipple and va-jay-jay obscured and adding the curtains would make it seem sensual and hedonistic instead of blatantly sexual.

Qué tu piensas?

Thanks again good buddy.

I see what you're saying about the curtains. A nice flowing organic element in the peice might be a good contrast to the harshness. I'll have to see if I can find somegood references for that.

Much thanks!
