Description Had to upload this on my bro's computer 'cuz my tablet's internet's being such a pain. >_>

Well, in honor of my new-and-improved Favorite Pokemon List (of which I shall soon be posting in my journal), a few days ago I started working on this meme, which ~EmeraldSeahorse had done and which I was dying to do. So here are my favorite Pokemon of each element. Though I suppose I should point out a few notes before going into detail--that way, if you are a detail hater, you can at least know the details about the actual picture:
- Firstly, Spiritomb, Vileplume, and Abra are not my favorite Pokemon of their corresponding element. Honchkrow is my favorite Dark Pokemon, Ivysaur is my favorite Poison Pokemon, and Girafarig is my favorite Psychic Pokemon. However, because they were already taken for one element, I decided to put my second-favorites down for their other element.
- Next, the only one up there that I don't actually consider a favorite Pokemon is Spiritomb--though I like Spiritomb, Spiritomb actually happens to be in the lower upper half of the Favorite List and is just there because it happens to be my second-favorite Dark Pokemon.
- Lastly, I am aware that I got Monferno's anatomy a bit wrong. I misinterpreted its sprite, and its picture was already drawn before I saw any other picture of one. I was under the impression Monferno had hands for feet, but apparently I was wrong.

Alright! Now then, here's why the Pokemon you see above are my favorites for their element!

(anything with a green bullet is a member of one of my versions' main teams)

Bug: Ariados - Typically my favorite Bug Pokemon are the coccoon or coccoon-like Pokemon, such as Kakuna or Forretress, or hardcore Pokemon, such as Pinsir or Beedrill. Ariados is an exception to that rule. Normally I am partial to the Pokemon that appear in my version's game as compared to those in my brother's, but Ariados (who sadly does not appear in Silver Version, replaced instead by Ledian) is from Gold Version. You can imagine the joy I had when I found one on Pearl. Ariados is so different from other Bug Pokemon. Whereas most Bug Pokemon are just that--Bug Pokemon--Ariados has some flair to it. It can flip upside-down and function as if its rump were its head! Like Venomoth, it also gets points for having almost more than two elements--Ariados can learn Psychic and Ghost moves together with its Bug and Poison attacks. It's PokeDex entires are cool, and Spider Web was one of my most sought-after moves in Silver Version. Ariados is just plain COOL.
Dark: Spiritomb - Spiritomb is my second-favorite Dark Pokemon, after Honchkrow. The reason I like Spiritomb is because it is such a nice alternative to Sableye. They are both Dark/Ghost Pokemon, but Spiritomb is cool looking, has one of the best Calls in Pokemon history (Honchkrow's is better), and has neat moves like Embargo (one of my favorite words) to boot! What I don't like about Spiritomb is how one gets it--anybody with no internet is doomed to never have a Spiritomb!
Dragon: Dragonair - It was pretty tight win for Dragonair, but in the end it topped Vibrava and Gabite for top Dragon Pokemon (kinda interesting how my favorite three Dragon Pokemon are all Stage 1). Dragonair is a gorgeous Pokemon, I must admit, as strange as that sounds. Its got the perfect shape--there's no parts one needs to add on or anything. Its moves too are excellent, particularly what it can learn from TM's. I've always been a fan of the Dratini line for their capability to learn a wide variety of moves, including some of my favorites like Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. If I were any Dragon Pokemon I'd certainly love to be a Dragonair; they are so cool-looking. I typically get attached to my Dragon Pokemon--because the Dratini, Trapinch, and Bagon lines (and the Larvitar line but they aren't Dragons) take soooo long to level up (particularly the Dratini line; Dragonair evolves into Dragonite at level 55), you kind of get attached to them. I was a bit sad when my Dragonair evolved into Dragonite, though Dragonite is cool too. I have a Dragonair (now a Dragonite) in my Main Team on LeafGreen Version.
Electric: Raichu - GOD I love this Pokemon. <3 I can't understand why I still don't have one in any of my Main Teams, I must be stupid! D8 I think I'll get one on Platinum. Anyway, I discovered my love for Raichu after reading an unfinished fanfic on FanFiction.net where the main character had to cope with infused Raichu DNA. It's, like, my favorite literary work of ALL TIME. And that's when I started seeing Raichu as more than a cool alternative to Pikachu. I also love how its a Kangaroo Rat (or, I suppose in Pokemon Terms, a Kangaskhan Rattata). The long tail reminds me of a whip, which seems to make a nice contrast with Raichu's cute appearance. Raichu also has a special place as being the ONLY stone-evolved Pokemon to naturally appear in the wild (Raichu appear in the Powerplant on Blue Version).
Fighting: Monferno - I actually can't credit Monferno for much other than appearance--I've never actually had one (same goes actually for all my other Generation IV favorites). I think though that compared to the other Monkey/Ape-like Pokemon (such as Primeape, who happens to be one of my least favorite Pokemon), Monferno is a gem. Its the only Generation IV starter I like other than Torterra and Empoleon, and I love it way more than the other Stage 1 Fighting Starter, Combusken. If I ever get Chimchar (which I fear I may do in Platinum), I'm certainly not evolving Monferno into the hideous thing that is Infernape.
Fire: Torchic - Torchic is in the Top 5 Favorite Pokemon, and it probably will stay there for a long, beloved time. My star Pokemon on Sapphire Version (along with my level 98 Kyogre), my level 64 (or 68, I can't remember) Torchic is my favorite Pokemon to have ever owned. Sapphire holds a lot of memories for me, and my fondest is raising this little guy. His placement is interesting in that both of its evolutions, Combusken and Blaziken, don't rank too well. I can remember when I started Sapphire out, relying solely on my little Torchic for support, having difficulty beating even the first Gym Leader, but now he's my second-best Pokemon ever (Kyogre's first). I love him so much. X3 I have a Torchic in my Main Team on Sapphire Version.
Flying: Honchkrow - My favorite Dark Pokemon and my favorite Flying Pokemon, Honchkrow is king when it comes to birds (even though actually Torchic is a bird too). I think Honchkrow was the best thing to come out of Generation IV, and I'm planning on having one on Platinum version when it comes out. I'm angry Honchkrow is only available on Diamond Version, leaving us Pearl people with a dumb Misdreavus evolution. So no, I actually have no Honchkrow. But I've made up for it by having one for a character. Seriously--mafia boss Pokemon are AWESOME! 8D And on top of it, Honchkrow put simply has the BEST Pokemon Call EVER! So yeah, Honchkrow is the definition of a cool customer.
Ghost: Drifblim - I don't have a Drifblim, but I want one. o.o I fell in love with Drifblim the moment I saw its official art, and it's my second-favorite Generation IV Pokemon. I think an undead popped hot air balloon is a totally cool idea, and coupled with its great attacks Drifblim is just a total winner! And its purple! And I like Drifloon too! Considering how wrong Gligar is for a Ground/Flying combination, Drifblim makes a great Ghost/Flying Pokemon indeed.
Grass: Ivysaur - Oh. My. Gosh. It's Ivysaur. Ivysaur has been one of my favorite Pokemon since the days of Red and Blue. It was my favorite of the original Starters, Charmeleon coming up in second. I always thought Nintendo didn't do Ivysaur enough justice--like, I thought Ivysaur's capability to stand on two legs was AWESOME, but the only time the games makes any use of it is in Ivysaur's sprite on Red and Blue. >.< You can imagine how ecstatic I was when I discovered Ivysaur was a playable character on Brawl! Ivysaur is also my favorite Poison Pokemon, even though I almost never use it as such. I have an Ivysaur (now a Venusaur) in my Main Team on Blue Version and LeafGreen Version.
Ground: Marshtomp - With the exception of Torchic my favorite Generation III Starter line is the Mudkip line, and my favorite of them is Marshtomp. I love how loosy-goosy it seems, so care free and flexible! Marshtomp also has a cool appearance and cool attacks to go with it. Mud attacks are probably my favorite Ground attacks--lowering accuracy is a great side effect. I have a Marshtomp (now a Swampert) in my Main Team on Sapphire Version and Emerald Version.
Ice: Froslass - I wasn't expecting Froslass to come out above Glalie or Piloswine, but she did! There are many bad ways to do an Ice/Ghost Pokemon, but fortunately Nintendo was intelligent and did it this way. Froslass is a floating phantom that embodies death from freezing. Too cool, literally. I'm hard at work on Pearl hunting down a Snorunt so I can get one of these. It also has a great moveset, just like Glalie.
Normal: Girafarig - Why the devil I don't have one of these in any Main Team is beyond me, though I will tell you I have tried (and I think I was getting there on one of my Silver Version files). Girafarig is SO awesome. It's Normal/Psychic but learns a lot of Dark attacks, so it is pretty much a Ghost Pokemon's worst nightmare. I love how its a giraffe-like okapi-like two-headed Pokemon (two heads are always cool) and how its second head is actually a Chomp from the Mario series. And, well... There are so many awesome things about Girafarig, I just can't list them! D8 The only thing I don't really like about them is their Call.
Poison: Vileplume - Vileplume is my second-favorite Poison Pokemon (and Grass Pokemon, for that matter), Ivysaur being my first. However, I take advantage of Vileplume's Poison element much more than I do Ivysaur's, so I certainly consider Vileplume to be my top favorite Poison Pokemon. Vileplume is kick-butt awesome, especially compared to icky Bellossom who I hate. Vileplume learns awesome, helpful Grass attacks, can be taught some of the few Poison attacks that are actually good, and has excellent stats. Sure, it can't learn Solarbeam like Bellossom can... But you can just use a TM. My favorite moves of Vileplume's are Petal Dance and Aromatherapy. Another reason I love Vileplume is because its a big walking rafflesia! Rafflesias are some of my favorite flowers! X3 And lastly, Vileplume has the BEST Call EVER on the Pokemon Stadium games. Seriously. The best. In fact, it was that call that made me get interested in them in the first place. I have a Vileplume on my Main Team in Emerald Version.
Psychic: Abra - My second-favorite Psychic Pokemon is Abra, the first being Girafarig. Ever since seeing the episode with Sabrina's Abra in the show, I've loved this Pokemon. In fact, until my new list Abra was my Favorite Pokemon PERIOD. Most people scoff at Abra because it only naturally learns Teleport and instead people generally love Alakazam (I, on the other hand, am a passionate Kadabra lover); this is also what brought me to love poor, underestimated Abra. Despite only learning Teleport, Abra can be taught loads of moves, including some of my favorites like Ice Punch, Metronome, and Psywave. Sabrina's Abra was the coolest thing on the entire show, and her Kadabra was so cool too that I fell in love with Kadabras too! Yet for all its worth, I'm not much of an Abra user. I have an Abra (now its a Kadabra) in my Main Team on Pearl Version. Sort of.
Rock: Magcargo - Also one of my favorite Fire Pokemon. Seriously, how can you NOT love a Pokemon made of pure LAVA? Magcargo brings the Fire/Rock combination great justice with its excellent Fire and Rock attacks. Whereas I had little use for one on Sapphire because of my star Torchic, LeafGreen was the perfect version for one. It was a big deal for me when I got my Magcargo on LeafGreen--one of my biggest tasks on Silver Version was always evolving Swinub and Slugma into Piloswine and Magcargo. They level up so slow. But Magcargo is completely worth the effort, 100%. And also, Magcargo's ability makes eggs hatch faster, which was a major help in completing my PokeDex on LeafGreen. I have a Magcargo in my Main Team on LeafGreen Version.
Steel: Bronzong - I almost did Empoleon. D8 Still not sure why it ranks so high. Oh, uh, anyway, Bronzong, like Drifblim, was love at first sight. Bells are totally cool, and Bronzong, of course, is a Bell Pokemon! Bronzong (as well as its pre-evo Bronzor), though, also happens to be really annoying when you don't have any Fire Pokemon. >_>
Water: Vaporeon - Vaporeon also happens to be my FAVORITE POKEMON EVER! 8D I love everything about it: its aquamarine fur, its fins, its tail, its attacks, its stats, its pre-evo Eevee, everything! Plus, it can MELT INTO WATER! Isn't that just FREAKIN' AWESOME!? Sucks that they made that a Poison attack (Acid Armor). But anyway, Vaporeon is just so totally awesome. I can't believe some people believe it to be the worst of the Eeveelutions (I personally am not a fan of Leafeon or Umbreon). I think especially compared to Jolteon and Flareon, Vaporeon just dominates! I get one in every version I have, except Silver and Pearl Version (in which I got Espeon and Glaceon respectively). I have a Vaporeon in my Main Team on LeafGreen Version.

*phew* Well, that's it! This was a fun meme to do! Please, if you comment, be sure to let me know your top five favorite ones out of the ones I have up there. Of course do try to critique too, its always appreciated.

Oh, and I think Ariados, Froslass, and Magcargo turned out the best. I'm sorry Marshtomp isn't very good, I'm not all that good at drawing Marshtomp. >.<

Pokemon Red and Blue's Ivysaur sprite depicts the Pokemon on its hind legs much like a bear rearing up.  As its bulb gets bigger, the Pokemon loses its ability to do that as it gets too heavy, but my picture is of a relatively young Ivysaur.

When something is caught in an Ariados' web, it doesn't eat it, but instead lets it go.

...but it attaches a string of webbing to the victim so that at night the Ariados can track it back to its family.

Excellent PokeDex entry, I think. It was a pleasure reading it on Pearl.
