I had to do it with some interruptions due to being mid class, but I would say the blue pencil blocking + the pencil sketch over top. Bout 45 minutes. Like 25 for the blue and the rest pencil :3 why?

for me anyays usually trying to put detail in armor and clothing tends to make me work on it more , i can crank out a sketch in like 10 mins if i really wanted to but if i want it to look decent itll be more like 20-30 mins XD and its all pencil at first too

ahh, i leave detail to last only cuz of what i was taught in animation school "Detail is the enemy of the animator/artist" if you focus on the details too much, you lose the big picture!

ah very true, always want to focus and getting the main thing done, details second, trying to do details in one area before working on the rest will drive you nuts XD

i take it you use the whole "circle and lines" thing? i should know this from lookin at your stuff but i have an awful memory XD

i dont do circles and lines really, circle maybe for the head but the whole "block it in with sausages and circle" doesnt work really. I find a pose or feel for one and put something called a "line of action" through the character, its the main line that gives the character pose or personality that runs through one part of the body to the other, then i block in the body, the whole body in with an outline or 3-dimentional form.

I took a course is all, or more so it was included in my program... 6 hrs a week, dedicated to a room with a naked model strikeing poses every 30seconds to 2 minutes. Had to sketch the entire form or "block" it in that time. so doing that for bout 7 months really helped.
