Hehe, I thought the drawing looked familiar, but tell me how big is the third big book? What matter does it deal with?

well, you appearantly didn't read trough my comment very carefully, hehe
The original character is drawn by the Danish (I think he's Danish...) comicbook writer/drawer (=maker?) Peter Madsen.
And I can tell you that his versions is much better...mine has too many annoying little errors...

yeah your right! I like this one version of Odin in "Ragnarok" in Myung's manwha.. he was depicted as still strong god.. mm.. the same characteristics.. but he was more muscular.. tehehe..

If I remeber correctly, he's originally described as a quite muscular fella, so it would be nice if I got a look at that version. Just one question remains: what's "Myung's Manwha?"

Myung lee-Jin is the teen who made "Ragnarok", which is an adaptation of the ever famous Norse Mythology of the same title, which is now (you probably know) the very popular MMORPG game..

Actually I don't know...I'm not big into mmorpgs either. I've been trying to find a picture of "Ragnarok Odin" but I can't find any, so you wouldn't happen to have a sample stored somewhere? It would be nice if I got to look at it

mm.. scanlations are scans of the comic "Ragnarok" with english translations.. hence the term scanlations.. mmm.. Odin first appeared on Volume 1, so I guess you can start from there. ^^~

oh, the word "scanlations" doesn't appear in any dictionaries of mine so...I'll try and get a copy of volume 1 though, but I doubt I'll find it in my local library...

Even if it is a copy- you got the shading done pretty well, and the beard seems quite meticulous. You could try creating your own pieces by putting together several copied bits together. Here's what I mean- if you wanted to draw Odin without a 100% copy, you could find /separate/ images of a viking helmet, a spear, a cloak ect. Not only would you probebly end up modifying the look of each of those bits, but the combination would look more original as well. Here's an un-secret: my "hmmm" drawing was formed of a picture of a stoat's head that I copied then modified to make more expressive/human, and of a crossbow whose prongs (the bow bit) I modified to look wooden instead of metal. If I showed you the two photos I used it would be almost impossible to realise that I used them as bases because they ended up changing in the little details.
I hope you understand what I'm saying here, as I'm kind of rambling. I'm telling you this because you come across as a particularily excellent copier, especially in this piece. You could use that to your advantage.

Don't know about exelent...It has several errors (for example the head is way too broad) but I'm learning as I go.
At first I actually did think about combining some different drawings into this. Mu first plan was to draw him riding on Sleipnir with einherjahrs flying behind him and the ravens Hugin and Munin about to land on his shoulders, but I thought i'd just a bit of like practize on the main character first...
