Description This piece was pencilled back in 1993 for use as a DC Style Guide piece. It is labeled that way at the very top. After the pencilled Style Guide pieces came I was told not to ink this one. Maybe DC didn't like that it was just the ADVENTURES #501 inside cover (without his hand) quickly pencilled or light-tabled...I really don't know.

I found it in my portfolio recently and inked it. I actually like this one better than the #501 cover and tried to improve on some things in hindsight. Inked over Grummett's pencils (more than layouts, less than finished pencils) on DC Cover Stock. The far edges picked up some slight discoloration from being stored with a Duo-Tone board.

We're getting close to the 20th anniversary of this piece. Pretty much the same art as the inside cover to ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #501. SOLD

I was a kid in the 90s and Superboy was my favorite comic. It's so great that now you are actually available online!
