I absolutely love the colours of this piece and the details of her face. Is that a little bee perched on her forehead? Her eyes, too, are so lovely and expressive.

I think the background is fine. With all the minute detail on her head, hair and face, I think the simpler background gently highlights it. If you added too much more detailed, the piece would feel a little cluttered, I think.

Beautiful face. I love the eyes and the details on her head. The flowers are cute, maybe they could be bigger to show that she's tiny (but I'm not sure she is tiny ) Perhaps a more rectangular format as well.

Gorgeous piece, lovely greens, very vibrant!

Crits:
3 areas.
The shoulders are definitely off - they're too rounded to be frontal, and if they're sideon, it's an odd angle and you need to make it clearer - for example, show the edge of her chest in profile slightly, in front of the furthest arm.
Also, they are too small, especially with that long neck - you need to stretch them out a bit further...

You have a. and need b.
a.(.)
....u......b..(.)
..^ ^......_ u _

try and imagine the 'u' is the neck >.>

Okay, that's useless. But I spent ten minutes trying to show it, so, bah. It stays.

Background... is lovely, but too different from the figure - it's abstract and looks vague and unfinished. This can work - to look like it's distant/unfocused - but that means the leaf right next to/in front of her has to be as crisp and clear and 'finsihed' looking as she is.

Eyes look like they're slightly off - I think you've drawn them facing front, but the face is slightly angled. But that may be a personal thing... they look a bit close together, and because the ears are much lower than they'd be on a 'human' face it makes it look a little wrong. But again, I think that's a point of personal taste (...I really don't like the chibi faces, as a reference )

Very lovely in the Lilly of the Valley patch!

Gee I really like the color mix on the peacock feather type items !! whee ... very nice.

Her upper lip is receding? .. and her lower a bit pout-ish, did she miss her lunch? I think you could change her emotive delivery with an adjustment here .. nice brows!! Very inventive.

I justa lovea your fairies, and I am off to the mail to post her URL to my friends in Ireland .. just in time for St. Patrick's Day!

There is an idea for your background, ... whip up an Irish one, and let her be one of the Elf Fairies of the Isles! You might land some commissions!

I'd like to start out by saying that i love the figure in your picture. I think she is beautiful. Wonderful details and a great expression. I really like her.

As for the background...

I almost think that you could take out the little white flowers in the background completely without it affecting the overall image.

The character strikes me as a little pixie/fairy peaking out from behind a blade of grass...or from behind a leaf. My opinion is that it would be better to bring out a little more detail of the leaf/grass instead of trying to add the flowers.

If you were to keep the flowers...you need to tie them into the background a little more clearly...
Right now...the flowers don't really fit in because you can't tell where they're coming from. Are they growing out of the plant? or just floating around her? I think they'd work better if they didn't seem to just be coming out of nowhere.

That's just my thoughts on it though

Well, in my opinion the background might be better if it flowed directionally the same as her headdress. As it is the flowers seem to draw the eye down while the headdress seems to draw it up, and it's a little jarring. That's just my take.

You mean background? Background looks nice, but I'd add a lot more detail. If the background is on a separate layer (or on separate layers) you can just make it look nice, and if you feel that it doesn't fit or you get a better idea, you can just make something else.

The character looks good, but I'm not sure about the shoulders.

Is a separate layer, yes... i wasn't sure about the flowers, and the scale and all that... al she nees a lot of details ^^ (be sure i'm going to do a lot of them XDDD )

mmm the shoulders and the neck isn't??.... i was thinking in those ones... in the face too, in te eyes i see something wrong, but when i try to make them more simetrical and that, i feel something lost :s....

The fae proportions are so hard x3
