Hello guys o/Sorry it's not the next page but hey it's still Undertale related ! And it didn't really took me time off the comic anyway.
I wouldn't call that a finished work but... I dunno it just felt better that way.
It's a work a little more personnal I wanted to put on paper after some stuff regarding my life. Nothing too dramatic but it was still new to express personnal feelings like that. That and I wanted to try drawing Asgore. Which is a lot of fun !
I used a ref for the face of Santa Asgore, thought I should point that out even if I did redraw it completely but it was a youtube video so I can't really give credit ^^'

So many people vilify Asgore for his actions. They forget that he does what he is the king and must do things he personally finds abhorrent. This captures it so well!

Comics like these remind me why I love Asgore so much. T_T What a good king. Not perfect, no, but he tried his best and deserves credit for that at least.

Yeah like I said life is alright, it's no big stuff. More like an everyday pressure that can accumulate at times, but I'm fine !

Well because that's what happen to him 90% of the time. In every route other than the True Pacifist one, Asgore is killed either by you or Flowey (Or even himself in one scenario !) He is the least likely character to survive in the game. Poor fluffybun !

Asgore is such an underrated character. He's been through so much, losing both his children and his wife in - what I can only assume - no more than a month, and still finds the strength to smile. This demonstrates that perfectly. He still has these buried feelings that rulers are never allowed to have rise to the surface.

I kinda disapprove with how often he is portrayed as a weak coward. Even the game itselfΒ (and most stories too) gives Toriel a moral highground compared to him which I don't really find justified.
He took some very arguable decisions in a time of great grief and sadness and tried to follow his kingly duty even if it went against his own convictions. Say what you want about Toriel but she did just leave to do nothing. He was just as depressed as she was (arguably more, he is the one who got abandonned by his lover)
Toriel's solution to treat humans nicely seems kinder but it's cruel to monster kind : it will never free them. Ever. It's a mother's decision but not a queen's. And even the True Pacifist Route only works because of the six previously acquired souls.
Also how is "You should haveΒ taken one soul to go outside and acquire more" a more moraly-sound solution ?! "Okay so just murder one kid and go murder 6 random other people outside. Much better than taking the souls of those who fell down here".
