Description I bought this for use in Inquisitor as a 54mm Ravener and I decided to call it Kitty

Edit - 12/12/10 - Finished base [link]

I think it took me about 10 hours overall to paint

The model is a Citadel/Games Workshop Tyranid Trygon/ Mawloc
Original sculpted by Aly Morrison

My custom warhound 'Wolf Apha' shall tear your 'Kitty' to shreds

It probably would do, but there aren't rules for Warhounds in Inquisitor

What a suitable name for a Tyranid.... Hmmm... funny xD heheh

but great work with it I do like the painting alot... wish I was that good... (I play Eldar) and funny that you are using this as a ravener... didn't know you could do that...

Thanks

For 40k, its too big for a ravener, but for Inquisitor its about 2 and a half times the height of a man, so it works out roughly the right size

That makes sense

you are welcome

Seriously though nice work! I run a space marine army but everytime i see a good tyranid like this, it makes me wanna start up a second army of them

Hehe thanks ^^

Im quite tempted to start a tyranid army myself now after painting Kitty. I only bought this for use in Inquisitor. Id need to find a good source of money first though

normally im not a fan of color schemes featuring a pale pinkish color like this but i really like it on this mawloc with that blue carapace.

I wasnt sure what colour to do it, so the purplish colour was more of just a guess. Im quite happy with how it looks though

personally, on larger tyranids i add a little gloss to the mandibles/mouth parts to get that slavering image to them a little more personality

looks good though

thats a really good idea. think i might try it on my trygon when i paint him

Thanks

I did try making the mouth parts wet looking, but I only own satin varnish, which as it turns out isnt particularly shiny
