At first I tought it was that Finn died many years after the final so Simon replaces him... still an interesting idea tho!

My wife gave me the boxed set of all 8 seasons for Christmas.... we are into season 7 now. Have not seen much of season 8 yet so no idea how it ended...
I like what you did here. Would be interesting to see how Simon got his youth restored.

You will understand this piece once you watched the very last episode of AT.

I feel like that would have made that horribly rushed ending slightly better.

The boy was willing to sacrifice himself to help others time and time again earlier, so why not at the end? Besides, he is well aware about the story behind Simon and Betty too. If he truly understands the pain of losing loved ones, then he should step up and be actual hero one last time.

Indeed, he should, yet they gave it to Betty instead for some reason. Lame.

Well, since the finale (at least) was narrated by BMO, we are not 100% sure if he was telling the truth. Since he couldn’t even accurately recall the hero boy’s name.
BMO was probably screwing the new duo with half truths. (Note that he was upset with them.)

Yeah, we can say that's why the ending was so insanely rushed and bad, BMO is a bad story teller.
