Is this named after the man who refused to leave when he was told that the volcano would erupt?
Beautiful scenery.

what i really love about this is that both the far off mountains and the close up flowers are in focus. it has a breathtaking sense of infinity. the only thing i'd say though, is the whites and brights need to be brighter.

Beautifully done. It's so tough to get something so close and so far away so well.

I will try my best to get up there soon. Would you estimate that the wildflowers are already at peak?
On a similar note (wildflowers), you should try to get to Silver Star Mountain (specifically Ed's Trail) soon. It's like a kaleidoscope up there now, and it is a great year for beargrass.

I'd say they are darned near to peak and with the heat, I don't know how much longer they will last. I noticed on Portlandhikers.org trip reports, that reports for the bloom started 2-3 weeks ago.
I will hit Silver Star, maybe next week. Will they still be ok you think?

Next week should still be fine for Silver Star, preferably midweek and after the heat wave abates. Do you have directions to the Ed's Trail trailhead? If not, please send me a PM.
