Description

Cedar Dryad was a long time in the making! Primarily because I spent a long time hand painting the wood grain detail over her entire body. I was afraid I had made the colors a little too high contrast, but some nice people told me that the colors are fine, so I'm hoping they are right, along with being nice lol. Turned out pretty much exactly as planned which is pretty rare. I usually end up changing direction a bit here and there during most projects. I was quite happy that the hair turned out the way I wanted it to. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work right or if I was going to have to come up with something else.

She’s up now in my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/Dirili

Features: Shrunken, reshaped head
                 Reroot & hairstyling
Repaint and full body blushing/wood grain texture enhancement painting
                 Handmade outfit
                 Repainted shoes and accessories

Hey! Sorry I'm late responding here. I haven't been on DA in a few days.
Thank you so much! For the hair, I used some various length sewing needles, and stuck them into the head. At each needle, I too 2 little groupings of hair and twisted them between my fingers, then wound them around the needle to cover it's length, then at the eye of the needle, I secured it with a bit of thread, then knotted the hair to cover it. I was so happy it turned out exactly as I had planned hehe.

Of course, reading 'shrunken heads' made me think of something voodoo...

But seriously, you went above and beyond with this. That wood texture is magnificent

Thank you so much! That wood texture took me forever, but it was so totally worth it!

hehe yeah, I always think about the traditional shrunken heads when I think of head shrinking too even after a year of doing this lol
