Baloo: So you've seen one. So let's go.
Mowgli: I'll be right back. I want a better look.
Baloo: Mowgli, wait a minute.
Bagheera: Oh, Baloo. Let him have a better look.

I will never ever paint the man village again. It was far too much trouble. >:^( But I like how it came out, so I guess it was worth it. 
I loves The Jungle Book. It's just too cute, and too much fun.
It makes me laugh, go 'aww', and 'oh no!'. It's got the whole gamet of emotions for me~~ And the songs are great ( the Sherman Brothers rawk my socks). And it had George Sanders and Shere Khan. Hawt.And of course it goes without saying that the designs in The Jungle Book are just pure brilliance. <:^D
Uuh, anyways. I love Mowgli and the Girl (yes, I know that they gave her the name of Shanti, but I like the mysteriousness of 'the Girl' ). Of course the only thing that would make Mowgli leave the jungle for good would be a woman. Heeheehee. Classic.
Oh, and Darleen Carr's voice just so beautiful. I listened to 'My Own Home' at least a dozen times while I was working on this (probably more).Couples Collection

when I was a kid, i thought she was an adult but when i got older, she's actually a child. I also had thought she was either mowgli's mother or sister, but i was wrong when i learned that she is an unrelated human villager. and her eyes made me cringe.

Actually, it was common for boys to just wear loincloths or baggy pants in Indian forest villages back then. In the book, he only did wear loincloth while in the village because he felt wearing clothes was itchy and uncomfortable.

You're right; "The Jungle Book" is the best Disney movie ever! Your pic is great! But why changed the girl her dress in the second part?

They probably changed it to make her a little more modern; more relateable to today's audience.

Not really "modern". It's just that the original wanted her to look as feminine as possible while the sequel made her look more accurate to a typical girl from British India.
Honestly I thought the redesign was better. It made her look more mature and beautiful.

The shading is just beautiful. And the expressions. Mowgli doesn't look as innocent as he did in the movie. Which is very nice!

Mowgli x Shanti has been one of my favorite Disney couples since they're first meeting at the ending scene of "The Jungle Book." Does anyone know where I can find some fanfics about them?

I remember watching "The Jungle Book" several times over and over again with my grandpa when my sisters and I were small. We always loved the parts when Mowgli first pushes Kaa out of the tree, and when he first encounters Baloo. I always liked Bagheera.
This scene always gives me butterflies because Shanti looks so pretty. I love her singing voice. And Mowgli is such a doll when he's so sheepish towards her.
This is a magnificent drawing. The watercolors are beautiful, and the details are wonderful. Great job on this painting.

Her name is Shanti. Well, it is in the sequel, but the sequel sucks...........but I think that was her unspoken name in the first movie, like the Beast's unspoken name is Adam. I LOVE the look on Mowgli's face. <3
