I love love love this movie--it's probably my favorite Treasure Island movie. Although The Muppets' version is amazing as well.And the kiddies get their own little folder: [link]

Fun Fact: Bobby Driscoll also played the main characters in "Song of the South" and "So Dear to my Heart" and did the voice-over for Peter Pan.

I did adore this movie, but I tend to be partial to the Muppet Treasure Island in more respects.

Ah, Bobby Driscoll as little Jim Hawkins. A wonderful talent indeed. I loved him most as Jim as he played it so perfectly and showed a lot of admiration with Long John (whom was played by the greatest actor to ever play a pirate in history, Robert Newton.) I also really loved Bobby in Song of the South! He's so adorable and smart! I love how he tricks the two bullies 'not to tell their mother'. LOL Talented young actor, but it's too bad he died so young from drugs.

I loved his acting in Song of the South that he actually brings tears to my eyes. Especially when he see that his Daddy is leaving him and his mother for Atlanta and when he's running after Uncle Remus calling for him to come back.

love this! as soon as I saw that little nose I new it was Bobby Driscoll's Jim Hawkins! My dad and I watch the 1950 Treasure Island all the time, I'm a huge fan of that version.

I recognized him! Yes, indeed, Bobby Driscoll was an adorable and very gifted actor. His performance in So Dear to My Heart was notable as well. ^_^ But by far my favorite was Hawkins in Treasure Island.
As for this piece, it's positively beautiful! You did a splendid job of cartoon-izing him; the fine line quality and the little touch of warm green in the apple is very nice.

I knew Disney had made a previous film from the book, but when I saw Jim Hawkins I thought of the 2002 version of Treasure Island: Treasure Planet.

i personally like the jim hawkins from treasure planet, as you can probably tell from my icon (rofl), but this is great! he looks like a sweet, although rather irritated, kid. 
btw, jim hawkins in treasure planet is supposed to be 15, but i rather think he acts more like 17 or 18 personally. just a lil FYI.

[link] and when you read the plot, it says the movie starts out with him as being three, reading a book. then, 12 years later, he's an aloof teenager. that being the case, he is 15 in the movie (although i pretend otherwise, 'cause he's too cool to be 15 in my head XD).
