I like to think that after the events of Fractured Entity, Jess would love to live by the sea.

MorningIt was deceiving how peaceful he looked when he slept. Eyes shut, hair in a silver halo around his head, or perhaps pooled around his shoulders, mouth in a gentle line making an expression that was somewhere between a smile and a frown, Zephyr looked positively sweet asleep. If any of his men ever saw it they would lose so much respect for him—or so Zephyr liked to say. Noreat didn’t think that soldiers were that finicky. Everyone had to sleep didn’t they? Why would seeing their General asleep change their opinion of him? Now if he didn’t have to sleep that might terrify them, but he did, and that was perfectly normal, so it followed that it shouldn’t affect anything between Zephyr and his men. But Zephyr thought it did. Zephyr had a lot of thoughts that Noreat didn’t agree with.
Though, the nice thing about sleeping Zephyr was that he couldn’t disagree with Noreat. All he could do was lay there, looking beautiful, half covered Off SwitchIt was an accident really. He hadn’t been trying to find it, but he somehow did. Upon further reflection, Mercutio realized that most discoveries were accidents. The greatest minds never set out to find something like x-rays or radioactive isotopes or instantly freezing crystals, they simply did. Likewise, Mercutio simply discovered this wonderful little tidbit.
Sitting here with Cian, he had simply been mindlessly stroking the man’s hair. His curls were just too wonderful. No two strokes of Mercutio’s fingertips felt the same texture. The curls seemed to have a will of their own, and yet they all worked in unison. They moved as a group, twisting and turning to create the bouncy spirals that Mercutio couldn’t stop himself from stretching out and releasing so they could bounce back. Cian had no idea how fun his hair was. Mercutio had curls once, but he never knew how to properly care for them, and Welcome to ApocryphaSomeone walked into the cell.  I couldn't tell who it was, though.  I didn't know anyone here.  At first they didn't see me.  This was their cell.  I was just put into it a few hours ago.  They must have been used to being alone, because they searched about the room for a few seconds before realizing that there was someone curled up on the top bunk—namely myself.
"Oh.  I didn't see you," a pleasant, if weak, male voice said.
I didn't respond.  My stomach hurt too much.  As soon as they had thrown me in the cell I curled up on the top bunk and now I was stuck in this position.  If I even thought about moving my body would erupt with pain, so I had resigned myself to paralysis.
"Hi," he said again, leaning against the far wall.
I still didn't say anything.  All of this felt like a terrible dream.  I was half-convinced I would wake up soon now.  I would wa
