Description Art Trade for LewisDaviesPictures , who wanted me to draw my take on the Jabberwock from Lewis Carroll's short story "Jabberwocky".

When designing my take on this fearsome flier, I wanted to go for a plausible take for what it would be like if it were to exist. I went for a Pterosaur Inspiration rather than a Dragon, because I was inspired by the Graphic Novel "Calamity Jack", which depicted the Jabberwock as a Pterosaur-like creature. I like its design so much, that I took some inspiration from it for my take on the Jabberwock, and as a result, I ended up also being inspired by members of the Rhamphorhynchid family of Pterosaurs (which, judging by the monster's depiction as a giant Rhamphorhynchus-like beast, likely inspired Graphic Novel's take on the Jabberwock).

Aside from "Calamity Jack" I also took some inspiration from the actual story story itself (for example, in keeping with its description from the short story (jaws that bite, claws that catch, eyes of flame, e.tc), I decided to give it features like glowing orange eyes, curved claws that are used for gripping and slashing, and hooked beak full of razor sharp teeth).

Here's how the story story goes:
"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
   All mimsy were the borogoves,
   And the mome raths outgrabe."

 "Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
  The frumious Bandersnatch!"

By the way, I'm planning on creating my own Fanfiction take of "Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass" someday, which will not only contain a lot of Speculative Evolution, but my Jabberwock-Pterosaur design is gonna be the design I have in mind for the main antagonist for the Fanfiction.
