Description In this painting, I have painted the negative shapes of trees with watercolor, and then added salt to get the crystalline formations. The colors are a bit off from the real thing, but that can't be helped I'm afraid.

This is made after a study from the book "Watercolors for the absolute beginner" (which I'm technically not, but okay) by Mark & Mary Willenbrink. Of course, I did not come up with these cool shapes myself

(And if anybody ever told you that watercolors are unpredictable, they're wrong. Watercolors have a mind of their own. They're driven to do something strange and unexpected. You can do the exact same thing twice, and will get a totally different result both times. This is fun, and frustration, all in one neat package)

Beautiful! Yes, the fun and frustrating part of watercolors is that you have no clue what they will do.

Cool stuff! I was immediately reminded of, hm, something like glas-in-lood, except of whiteness instead of lead Very interesting technique, and I like the colour scheme!

The colors actually look better on my monitor
You really look forward to another period of annoyed grunts and frustrated sighs...?
