Description
In this painting, I have painted the negative shapes of trees with watercolor, and then added salt to get the crystalline formations. The colors are a bit off from the real thing, but that can't be helped I'm afraid.

This is made after a study from the book "Watercolors for the absolute beginner" (which I'm technically not, but okay) by Mark & Mary Willenbrink. Of course, I did not come up with these cool shapes myself

(And if anybody ever told you that watercolors are unpredictable, they're wrong. Watercolors have a mind of their own. They're driven to do something strange and unexpected. You can do the exact same thing twice, and will get a totally different result both times. This is fun, and frustration, all in one neat package)
