Description Welcome to Part 2 of the DreamWorks Ranking series, this time we're going over the Paramount Pictures Era, which lasted from 2006 to 2012 when DreamWorks Animation was owned by the one and only Paramount Pictures, a time when their spinoff shows would air on Nickelodeon before Netflix and Amazon. Anyhow, the films in this area were pretty extraordinary. Anyhow, let's begin.

Over The Hedge: Honestly a pretty underrated. I loved this movie ever since I was a kid, and it still holds up pretty well, the cast for this movie is great, and the soundtrack is just amazing. Overall, just a cute and fun little animated film.

Flushed Away: Aardman's final movie in their partnership with DreamWorks, this movie's actually not that bad. And with a movie that takes places in the sewers, I'm surprised that there isn't even much toilet humor (which is a good thing). And the characters are pretty funny, especially The Toad (played by Ian McKellen), his rat henchmen (played by Andy Serkis and Bill Nighy), and Le Frog and his team. Although even though a lot of people hated the slugs, fortunately they didn't completely take up the entire film like the Rabbids did with Rayman or the Minions did with Despicable Me. Even though this film was okay, this didn't stop DreamWorks from ending their partnership with Aardman, who would then on partner with other animation studios such as Sony Pictures Animation and then Lionsgate and Studio Canal.

Shrek The Third: Definitely the worst in the Shrek franchise, but overall a mediocre film. Sure it had many good moments here and there, but unfortunately it still did not do well.

Bee Movie: The only good parts about this movie for me was the beginning; such as the honey-making factory, the introduction of the Pollen Jocks, and of course, the flying scene; everything else is hit or miss.

Kung Fu Panda: Now THIS is an amazing film. Both the story, the fight scenes, AND the soundtrack were absolutely amazing. And this movie is home to one of my most favorite movie quotes of all time "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." This is honestly one of my most favorite DreamWorks films of all time, and it shows.

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa: I honestly love this more than the first movie because it actually gives each of the characters more of a story. Such as Marty trying to be in a herd, only to realize all the zebras are exactly like him, Melman trying to become a doctor, but then realizes how much Gloria means to him, and Alex trying to make his dad proud after he finds out he's originally from Africa. This movie honestly has so many good elements, and the final battle was both funny and amazing at the same time. I think this video by Schaffrillas Productions says it best: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r7Lmq…

Monsters Vs Aliens: I use to love this film a lot as a kid, mainly for its soundtrack by Henry Jackman (the same guy behind the Wreck It Ralph movies and Pokémon Detective Pikachu), however the rest of the film is okay. Yes, some of the human designs are a bit weird, but some of the story is pretty interesting. Overall, not bad, but not good either, and the Halloween special on NBC was also pretty interesting.

How To Train Your Dragon: Such a great start to one of DreamWorks' most beloved franchises. I honestly need to rewatch this one day now that I've seen the sequels recently.

Shrek Forever After, The Final Chapter: Such a phenomenal way to end the franchise (at least until Shrek 5 was announced), some of the beginning may be a bit annoying, but the rest of the movie is just super phenomenal, and honestly the darkest movie in the Shrek franchise. If you wanna hear more about why this movie is an underrated gem, check out this amazing video by, you've guessed it, Schaffrillas Productions: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcYs6S…

Megamind: Honestly one of DreamWorks' more underrated films. A lot of the story and music in this movie was just amazing. And honestly, this video by Schaffrillas says it best why it's a subversive masterpiece: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-2Tjm… (I'm sorry if I keep referencing him, but a lot of what he says for certain movies actually has a fair point)

Kung Fu Panda 2: An excellent sequel to one of my most favorite DreamWorks movies of all time. It was interesting seeing Po find inner piece while also finding out the tragic story of how his family was killed and his mom saved him from the clutches of Lord Shen. And the final battle is the best part of this movie. And once again, the soundtrack just slaps (yes I really love movie, tv show, and video game soundtracks)

Puss in Boots: Ehhhhh, this one was okay, it was nice to see Puss in Boots have his own story, but there are a couple plot holes here and there. It was okay overall

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted: This was also an ok film, I honestly don't see why Alex suddenly felt like being in Africa was a bad thing when in the end of the 2nd film, he really loved it there. However despite that, this film still had a lot of amazing scenes. The chase scene at the beginning, Vitale's backstory, the new Circus show scene in London (Katy Perry's Firework went really well with it), and the final battle was just amazing. And of course, let's not forget this movie's best part, the villain, Capitain DuBois, she's such a funny and super-skilled villain, and will stop at nothing to get Alex's head.

And last, but certainly not least......

Rise of the Guardians: Now THIS is an underrated DreamWorks movie, the animation for this was just amazing and I really loved a lot of the characters, especially the main villain, Pitch Black. A lot of the music and battle scenes were pretty amazing too, and it's honestly a shame this movie didn't do well at the box office, I feel like this movie deserves some more love and attention.

Anyhow, that does it for the Paramount Era of DreamWorks, next is going to be the 20th Century Fox Era.......*sighs* oooooh boy.........
