Amazing, not sure I'm more impressed by the character or the background. Hmm, I really, really dig that background but in the end it's probably the perfect combination of both. Β

No Problem, I wish there was a way that I could learn from you. Have you got any tutorials anywhere?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dropdeadcoheed In reply to Chaosketcher [2015-11-15 13:50:59 +0000 UTC]

No I don't have any tutorials. I've only been painting for almost 3 years so I'm still learning a lot with every painting I do (look at my gallery to really see my progress as a painter) but the fact that you among some other people have been asking about that has been making me think about doing some tutorial type of things in the futureΒ Β
But for now the thing I can give you is some advise I've given some other people.
Dedicate A LOT of time to painting, But how you spend that time is also important, for instance I highly recommend doing study's of photos (people and environments) so you get a feel of how to paint reality and on top of that also do paint study's of your favorite artist's and you get a feel of how an experienced artist paints reality. Do this while in between painting your own original stuff and when your not painting GET ART BOOKS! For me I started with a book all about fundamentals and then got individual books about each one to expand my knowledge for each one. and when reading your books look up online each subject to expand even more. Dedicate time to work on your fundamentals. So for example work on anatomy for a dedicated amount time then work on perspective etc. and like I said if its possible, spend around 6 hours or 8 (whatever is comfortable don't do it all day or you might start getting problems in you hand so its important to rest) a day painting and try to do it everyday so it stays fresh in your brain. Do all these things and you will surpass my current level in 3 years or less as long as you stay dedicatedΒ

I kind of copy and pasted that from a response I gave to someone on my last painting who was asking but it goes for everyone.Β Β
