Description Illustrated by Sheather888.

Of the three North American Dromaeosaur subfamilies, the Velociraptorines tended to occupy something of a middle ground. Neither as large or powerful as the Dromaeosaurines or as small and swift as the Saurornitholestines, the descendants of Acheroraptor and kin held the niche of small ambush predator. This lifestyle was well suited to the dense, tropical and sub-tropical forests that covered the Northern Hemisphere for the majority of the Paleogene. Indeed, the 2.5m Litoriraptor dwelt in an environment positively teeming with potential prey items, including, but not limited to rodent-like Multituberculates, various small Eutherian and Metatherian mammals, lizards, birds and amphibians. The environment in question was the Early Eocene Wasatch Formation (55.8-50.3 mya) of Wyoming.
