Description “Alright, this… ngh… should get this thing operational.” The Bulsa Sentinel spoke, looking to his partner.

“Readings are… stable! Holy crap, we actually did it…!” A Twillin Sentinel exclaimed. “A whole new jump drive for our ships!”

The two high fived as they looked on the large, humming machine before them. They might have just earned their spot in Sentinel history with this newest ship drive. Years of research during their time as Sentinels had built up to this.

“Quick, let’s get our notes recorded and get this thing taken apart. We don’t want some other team to swoop in and steal our wo-”
The Bulsa stopped speaking, looking past the Twillin towards the door of the lab they were using. Standing there was an odd looking alien, appraising eyes looking between the two Torem Sentinels and then to the drive. The Twillin, now noticing the new arrival, quickly threw a sheet over the device.

“Can I help you?” The Bulsa asked the alien. She, or at least that’s what the he thought they were, almost looked like him. Long ears poking up from a soft furred head. A twitchy nose. The face a cross between a rabbit and a fox…
But that’s where any similarities ended. The alien was of a tan furred color, the red of her hair, impressive neck crest, and tail all in stark contrast to it. Her brown eyes darted about before finally settling on the Bulsa.

“I left something in here.” She spoke in a low, calm voice. “May I…?”

“Oh. Uh… yeah.” The Bulsa nodded, waving her in. The alien bowed as she walked into the Sentinel lab, heading over to one of the tables not in use. The Twillin couldn’t help but stare at her as she walked, but not for her species’ odd looks. The Twillin was fixated on her clothing. A tight, leather/latex material leotard that left very little to the imagination. It hugged her backside quite well, leaving a bit of thigh visible between where the leotard ended and her thigh high boots began.

She bent over, retrieving her bag from beneath one of the lab tables in the room.
“Thank you.” She nodded to them, a slight smile on her face as she made to leave.

“... hey, wait a minute.” The Bulsa suddenly spoke up. The alien froze, turning around. “You aren’t a Torem. You’re with the Diatas, aren’t you?”

“... yes.” She finally spoke up. “I am. I was in here for repairs.”

“Oh.” The Bulsa blinked. “Ah, sorry. Been a long week. You uh… take care now.”

The alien nodded back to the Bulsa as she left the lab, hurrying away, even as she checked her wrist computer to see exactly what she had hoped for.

“Data acquisition: 100%.”

“Aaaaah, Minnera. Nice of you to check in.”

“I have something you might find valuable.” The alien, known as Minnera, spoke in a quiet voice. She was currently seated at one of the piers on the shore of the city-state of Madria. A fair distance from the Sentinel Academy, so safer for her to make contact with her… boss…

“Is that so?” The gorgeous Tarnea woman spoke, one of her two sets of hardlight arms clasping eagerly in front of her in the screen of Minnera’s wrist computer, while the other two continued to stroke and caress the vaguely female shaped struggling, mmphing silk cocoon in her lap. Minnera had to hide her blush, all too familiar with the crime boss’s… habits.
“So come ooooon, tell Auntie Jale what you found.”

“Transferring now.” Minnera spoke, beginning the transfer of the files she’d stolen with her wrist computer. Blueprints for the experimental ship drive those Torem Sentinels had been working on, stolen straight from their own tablets. If only the academy knew just how vulnerable their tech was to someone as gifted in espionage as her. A few moments passed as Jale began to view the files on her end, pinning the wiggling cocoon in her lap down with her free hands in the meantime to quiet it.

“Hmmm… interesting, very interesting.” The spider-like alien mused. “This could prove useful… but only for resale.”

“What?” Minnera voiced somewhat loudly, looking around before quieting her voice. “I thought you had a tech lab under your name. Imagine what they could do with-”

“I have a tech lab, yes, but I don’t care about ships. They specialize in networks, encryptions… spying. I have money to buy the highest end ships around for myself. I don’t need to get under the hood with my sleeves rolled up for something this… simple.”

Minnera’s neck crest stood on end, a typical sign of anger in her species due to its function as a highly sensitive sensory apparatus. It’s what made them so good at spying, for the most part. But with their senses dialed up so high, they were easily overwhelmed, both by outside stimuli and their own emotions. Took years of training for one of her kind to learn to properly mask their emotions. Years Minnera never had.

“So unfortunately, I can’t really qualify this crumb of information as something valuable. So your debt still stands at its current repayment.”

“You said yourself it has good resale value. That has to count for some-”

“I also said I have money. I’m not interested in money.” Jale spoke matter of factly, lifting the cocoon out of her lap to hang it in the web tapestry hanging behind her hand crafted desk chair, just one of the many symbols of wealth and power she liked to display. “I’m interested in the higher ups’ dirty little secrets. I’m interested in the rising stars that I can blackmail to work for me. I’m interested in who is going where and why and how it benefits me. And so far, in the time you’ve been there, you’ve given me table scraps.”

Minnera clenched the fist of her wrist computer arm, resisting the urge to end the call. But Jale, instead of carrying on in her mildly angered voice, simply sighed, running a hand through her hair.

“Look… Minnera. I know that you think very little of me.” Jale spoke, her tone one more of a caring lover now. “But I think the world of you. I have been extremely forgiving as far as your debt goes. I’ve had people killed for less than what you cost me. I’ve sent some to mines. Others to brothels. You? You get to go get an education that others can only dream of. And all I want in return… is that place’s secrets.”

Minnera tried to keep a stoic look, averting her eyes even as Jale reached towards the camera, as if caressing her face.

“If you can’t get that for me, just let me know. I’m sure we can come to… other arrangements for you debt.” Jale said, clocking her mandibles mischievously.

“Oh shut up…” Minnera huffed, face reddening as a slight smile splayed across her face.

“Ahah, there it is.” Jale cooed. “Hope to see you back here this weekend. It gets so very lonely here withou-”

“MMPH! HMM GMHPH!”

“Oh be quiet, you!” Jale cast over her shoulder to the wiggling cocoon.

“Do I want to know who that is and what they did?” Minnera asked.

“No. You really don’t. It will just give you an idea what I have planned for them. And I’ll spare you those details.” Jale waved off. “Now then. Thank you for your report. But next time, I hope you have something a little more interesting for me.”

“I will.” Minnera nodded.

“Then I will see you when you do.” Jale nodded. “Take care of yourself now. Goodbye.”

And with that, the line was cut, Minnera sighing as she leaned back into her seat, her mind full of thoughts…

Jale Motna was a high ranking member in one of the fringe system crime syndicates. And Minnera had once cost her a great amount of money. By all means, she should be dead…
But it wasn’t often one saw a Tevari. The species itself was fairly reclusive, preferring the company of each other than others. But they were renowned for their talent in espionage. No doubt Jale was regaled with that potential. So… that’s where Minnera had been the past several years. Living with Jale, getting proper instruction in hacking, stealth… even assassination.

But then something had happened. She’d discovered her ability to use Vita. The almost magical force that Sentinels used to power their weapons and utilize strange abilities they called mutations. And Minnera’s mutation? An exceedingly useful one that offered her the ability to create sensory barriers. Perhaps surround someone in a sound blocking barrier to stop their shouts for help and make it easier to stealthily incapacitate them. Perhaps create a barrier that blocked sight for needed privacy, or perhaps even create a cover of invisibility for her and others to hide behind. She was still learning the limits of her ability, but it was very useful for her line of work.

Minnera broke herself out from her thoughts. It wasn’t good to linger too long in one place, especially given what she’d just sent. While not exactly illegal, it would still raise eyebrows if the data theft was linked back to her. Sighing inwardly, Minnera rose from her seat, beginning the walk back to the transport that would get her back to the Republic of Libertalia. It seemed she had her work cut out for her. But she was a Tevari. This line of work was in her blood.

Name: Minnera ????

Age: Late 20s

Species: Tevari

Affiliation: Sentinel Academy / Tarnea Crime Syndicate

Information: A Sentinel with the Diata Division, who specialize in investigative and security work, Minnera's connections with the academy don't run as deep as her connections with the Tarnea Crime Syndicate. Specifically with a Tarnea crime queen known as Jale Motna. Minnera owes Jale a great deal of debt for reasons as of yet unknown, but the rarity of a Tevari outside their own system was something Jale couldn't pass up. Rather than punish Minnera for her transgressions, Jale offered Minnera the chance to work for her. Ensuring she was trained in proper stealth, hacking, and silent assassination techniques, Jale intended to use Minnera to help in taking on her rivals. But when Minnera manifested the natural ability to use Vita, Jale had better ideas for her.

And so Jale had Minnera enrolled in the Sentinel Academy. It's Jale's hope that Minnera can help her infiltrate the organization and help her to make use of them against her rivals, one way or another. How Minnera feels about this though is as shrouded as everything else about her.

I CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER UPLOADED HER HERE. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Minnera's based on a custom species www.furaffinity.net/view/39112… that are part of 's "Silver Linings" universe.

probably going to start marking Silver Linings related stuff with "SL" in the image titles, so keep an eye out for those.
