Splinter's pov

for days, I have noticed a change in Tiffany. she has been acting more depressive lately. she and Leonardo was meant to go in to the village but she never left her room. she has been messing for many meals and her training is lacking heart. Shifu suggested I go find her. I did just that. she was sitting under the peach tree, staring out in the mountains under the gray night. I noticed she has not put her Mohawk up in days. her hair was so long, it covered her bald sides. she was in a black robe with gray trimming. her face was full of sadness yet wonder. I could only guess what she was thinking about. she was always to herself. she has shared many things with me however, she did keep some secrets. I walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. she jumped before looking at me. after a moment, her eyes relaxed but they did not look at me with love. yet, with sadness. "you missed dinner and your appointment with Leonardo." I informed her.

"yeah..."

"are you alright? we have been missing you lately."

"at least someone is..." she mumbled to herself. she forgets that I do have more advanced hearing time to time.

"who would not miss you, My Dear?"

"I can name a few people. in fact, I can name plenty of people who wouldn't care if I was even dead!" when she said the word 'dead', I swallowed a lump in my throat.

"who?" I forced out.

"mom, dad, sister, my brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and more!" she got up and stood near the edge of the cliff. her arms were crossed as she looked over the valley. "they never did..."

"you family? you never speak of them. what has brought up these feelings?"

"Splinter, do you not notice the families here? they look so happy while I'm here alone without mine!" she turned around. her face went from angry to bashful quickly. "I mean parents kind of family."

"I understand."

"children here don't have to face fights, pedophiles, nor hate. they have others to protect them. sometimes I get so irritated when I see little bunny children with their parents who actually do things with them instead of sending them to the streets." she crossed her arms again. "and the parents. I hate going to Ping's because of all the lovey couples. there is only so many Lady and the Tramp scenarios I can take before I go stalk raving mad! I get even angrier when I remember I'M THE ONLY HUMAN IN CHINA!!!" she breathed heavily for a moment. "I didn't mean to say it the way it came out."

"are you feeling regret for choosing me over the United States?"

"no. its just... I don't know."

"I do not think you are having resentment to the children or their parents. you are feeling homesick."

"but I am home."

"perhaps you miss you're parents. it has been years since you seen them."

"no no... that's not it..."

"then what?"

"us."

"e-excuse me?"

"I have been thinking about us a lot lately. ever since we came to China, we haven't seen much of each other. you're always doing something else when you promised me that if I left the U.S., I would be happy. but I'm not."

"what are you saying?" I heard my voice crack.

"I'm not happy. I feel like I'm missing something."

"are you doubting my love and devotion to you?"

"no... is it possible for me to be going through a mid-life crises?"

"at your age?" I asked. "I do not believe so. you are not even 21 yet."

"depression?"

"perhaps." we were quite for a moment. "you do know how I try to make you happy, yes? I may not be perfect but, I wish I could give you what you are missing."

"I just feel like I need more."

"more what?"

"of us."

"you are not happy with me?"

"well... I feel like there is something for us."

"like what?"

"I don't know. we're dating, living together, our love life is great."

"love life... to rats, once we begin sexual relations, we are mates. but to humans, we are only boyfriend and girlfriend. in my eyes, we are married in a way. to you, we are not."

"marriage? hm... sounds... interesting." her face lit up.

a few drops of rain fell before it began to down pour. soon, we were under lightning and rain. we only stared at each other looking for her answer. "this is what you are missing. you say you feel alone. you are not angry at your family nor the parents. your jealous. you want a family. not a family at heart but by rings. this is the answer."

the wind picked up. her robe blew in the wind with her hair. the wind revealed a bald side of her mohawk. "I don't understand."

"marry me."

"what?" she laughed.

"marry me! I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you already. you are my mate. let me be you're husband. this is what you are missing." I got down on one knee. "I may not have a ring at the moment but allow me to ask you." I grabbed her hands in mine while she stared in my in shock. "please, you are my life. let me be yours. I wish to make you happy. without you, I am nothing. please, will you marry me? I can not promise a perfect life, but I can provide you one of love and excitement. please?"

"I-I don't know what to say." she began to twitch with her nervousness.

"yes would be just perfect."

her twitching stopped as she laughed. lightning flashed around us, rain soaking our clothing, and the wind swirling around us. "y-yes. of course!" I stood up and held her in my arms. "but when?"

"whenever you please."

"where?"

"wherever you wish!" I lifted her and spun her around. "as long as I am with you," I let her down. "it will be perfect."

Shifu's pov

I paced the hall of warriors waiting for Splinter to report back. Tiffany worries me too much at times. the doors swung open the closed. walking to me as Tiffany and Splinter laughing and playfully shoving each other before linking arms. she is only 2 inches taller then him, so it wasn't height wise awkward. "I see you seem happier." I told Tiffany. "what could be good about being soaking wet?"

"I can name a few things." she smiled before she and Splinter walked away.

I was left alone to wonder what she could have possibly meant.

Splinter's pov

it was an hour after we came inside, that we were laying naked the bed we shared. she was laying her head on my chest was we still tried to catch our breath. it was minutes after when I was the first to speak. "you know, we do have to tell them sometime."

"yeah..." she smiled.

"perhaps tomorrow?"

she sighed. "alright. but can we sleep first? I'm tired after all that."

"of course." I laughed to myself as I combed my hand in her hair.

it was the next day at the table while we were eating breakfast, we were talking about the storm last night. "I heard shingles trashed the tables at Pings and the apple cart crashed." Donatello told us.

"I heard a lightning bolt broke a wall." Michelangelo said.

"I heard Shifu complain about Splinta' and Tiff comin' in wet." Raphael grinned at us.

"yes." Shifu looked to us. "care to explain?"

I looked across me to Tiffany. "My Dear, do you mind-"

"what? oh yes." Tiffany she took another bite. "Splinter and I are engaged." she said nonchalantly.

I dropped my chopsticks in shock. "I was going to ask for you to pass the salt but that works too."

"is she kidding?" Leonardo asked.

"no. I asked for her hand in marriage. in fact, I am going to get her ring soon."

"congratulations you guys." Donatello smiled.

"nice!" Raphael patted my back.

"its a Kodak moment." Michelangelo said.

"I'm so happy for you." Leonardo's face was not of happiness. he stood up and left the kitchen.

"I'll take care of this." Tiffany said. she got up and ran after him.

Tiffany's pov

I ran after Leo to find him. I stopped him in the hall of warriors. "Leo, we are going to talk about this."

"no!"

"yes! what is wrong?"

"nothing, nothing at all. everything is just fine!"

"listen, smartass. either you tell me or I'm pushing you in the pool."

he looked to the water then at me. "how hard?"

"whats wrong???"

"your marrying my father!"

"didn't we go through this already? when you found out we were dating, you said you would get over it. you promised."

"I am over it. but your marrying him. it makes you my step-mother."

"I'm not asking you to call me mom. I just want to be happy with your father."

"lets get a few things straight. you are like, 30 years younger then him, your a human, and he is my father."

"your friends with me even though I'm human."

"that's not what I meant. you wont have kids."

"I cant anyway."

"he'll leave before you."

"and I will treasure our memories."

"you'll be my mother. I see you as my friend or sister. not my mother!"

"I don't want to be. I will be you're father's bride. nothing you will say or do can stop me. I love him. if you cant respect that, then...then... you can just get over it. its going to happen. even if it kills me." I walked away and slammed the doors behind me as I stepped outside.

Leo's pov

I have spent an hour thinking about our argument. I had a right to be angry. I loved her and she chose my father instead. its like one of his soap operas. I decided to talk to Splinter. I walked to his room and was about to knock on the door when I heard sniffling. I leaned in to listen who it was. "I should speak with him. he had no right to say those things. I do not know what has gotten into him." I heard Splinter say.

"I do. I think he may hate me." Tiffany's voice was cracking. I cracked the door to see them sitting on the bed. Tiffany had her face buried in my father's chest his arms wrapped around her. he rubbed the top of her head.

"no, he is troubled. a inner turmoil hurts him. he has experienced this before but not this situation. it is known for children to react this way when their single parent gets married."

"but he said I was 30 years younger then you and that it was wrong. when he found out we were dating, he was angry. I never told you but he said our relationship was immoral." she cried harder. she muffled some more things.

"excuse me, Love?"

"he was in love with me! its just like your soap operas, he loved me. I told him to move on. is he still mad at me for it???"

"no, no... everything will be fine."

"what are ya doing?" Raph asked. he pulled me away from the door into a hall. "what did ya do?!?"

"what?"

"she is crying!"

"I know!"

"why?"

"well..."

"what did ya say?"

"basically, they're bad for each other."

"nice." he sarcastically said. "well, bro. ya fucked up."

"I notice. I have to make this up to her."

"how do ya plan on doin' that?" he asked.

"Leo! Raph!" we looked to Donnie running to us. "the ancient one sent us a letter."

"how?"

"the tribunal must have sent it for him. it says he is having a friendly reunion in Japan. plenty of our friends are going to be there."

I thought for a moment. "that's it!"

"what?" Donnie asked.

"to make up for what I did, I can help them with their wedding. in fact, I have the perfect place!" I took that invite from Donnie and ran in the room. they stared at me in surprise. "we have invite from the ancient one for a reunion and I figure you could have your wedding in Japan! you could have a Japanese wedding with our friends."

Tiffany whipped her eyes. "Japan? Splinter, what do you think?"

"with our friends?"

"yours."

"if you wish, Love. then yes. when is it?"

"next week."

"get married in 2 weeks then? that's so soon."

"what other time is there? everyone will be there at the time."

"but to plan it in two weeks, a dress, tux, flowers, food, invites, place, minister, honeymoon, reception, rings... that's so much."

"we will invite them once we arrive, we can easily get you a dress, I already have a very charming tux, we can honeymoon in the mountain cabin, we can find a caterer, we can pick flowers in the fields, can find the rings here. there is much, but we do have 5 people who can help us."

"if you say so then yes."

"so... in Japan in 2 weeks?" I asked. they agreed.

Tiffany's pov

it has been days since we retrieved the invite. we have been packing when there was a knock on the door. I was too busy at the moment to answer it. "Tiffany," Shifu called. "a jeweler is here."

"the ring guy!" I ran out to meet him in the hall. "good afternoon, sir." I said to a pig in a yellow with blue trim robe. "me and my fiancé will be right with you." I ran to get him. me and Splinter came back. "right this way." we led the man into the kitchen. we all sat down. me and Splinter were next to each other while the pig was in front of us. he set a box on the table and opened it for it to face us. there were many things in it.

"alright, the miss mentioned fiancé, so I'm guessing you want rings." he took out a smaller box  and dumped rings on the table. "we have jade with garnet gems in it."

"hmmm, not very weddingy."

"...alright... we have a gold and silver bands with pearls and diamonds."

"I don't think so."

"I think I get it." he dug in his box for another ring. he pulled out a ring that was a thick gold band with many diamonds. is this what you meant?"

"ohh, I love it."

"may she try it on?" Splinter asked. the pig handed him the ring. he slipper it on my finger. "how much?"

"500 Yuan."

"that's a lot of money." I told Splinter. "we cant spend that much on rings."

"you said you loved it. we have the money." Splinter said.

"but we also have other expenses."

"I have that covered." he looked to the pig. "we will buy it."

it was days after when we reached Japan. we rode a ship after we exchanged currencies. they have lead Shifu and I to a house in the country. we stepped to the door and Splinter knocked on it. I have never met this man so I was nervous. a little overweight man in a red vest and a white mawashi with sandals. he had a white pony tail and a matching beard. "Splinter, kalmias!" the man smiled. "it is so good to see you all again. who are these two?"

"this my friend Shifu and my fiancé Tiffany." Splinter smiled.

"fiancé?" he looked to me. "it is a relief to know Splinter will be taken care of and watched over. he can be a handful, you know." he joked.

"yeah." I nervously laughed before I twitched. he looked at me strange for a moment. "sorry, I twitch when I get nervous."

"come in. we have been waiting for you all."

we stepped inside and the turtles faces lit up. I held on to Splinter's arm. I wasn't used to so many strangers.
