Simon (especially the the second game) is one of my great inspirations, actually, together with The Legend of Kyrandia 2 and Realms of Arkania.

Original Simon is my favorite but the second game is not bad either.
Never played LOK 2 and ROA. Are they in the same vein with Simon?

Well, I was mostly referring to the art style, but if you like Simon I think you might enjoy LOK 1+2 too. It's a classic (and a bit humorous/goofy) 90s adventure taking place in a pseudo-fantasy setting similar to Simon's.
ROA is actually a series of RPGs/dungeon crawlers with clunky controls (at least for the modern standards) but a nice atmosphere and a setting that is basically a German version of D&D.
