I was thinking the same thing while I was drawing him. I first made the drawing with no shorts/pants but it just for some reason it looked weird to me so I though of adding them afterwards and even thought its still a bit odd I think it looks alright.

It's not that it looks odd I just wonder how the actual process would work I imagine it'd split the pants legs down the inside rims (Where the legs meet like a box cutter, otherwise the pants would cause quite a nasty wedgie and possibly wouldn't be removable without cutting the skin.
