"Please Do Not Politicize This Photograph In Your Comments."

Pfft ... right.

If not for the political statement there isn't much left to talk about. The photograph is poorly focused, badly framed and poorly exposed. The political statement seems to be the only reason this shot acquired a DD.

lol focus makes a shot in what world? hdr king over here talking shit on a real photographer, have fun selling images in britan? it may not be much of a technical shot but I assure you its much more interesting than anything in your gallery again have fun selling your boring architecture shots dont lose the day job dentist? insurance salesman? Ha hah, whoa ... over-react much?

I never made any claims about you or your other photography. I was just commenting on the irony of the request to not comment on the politics of the shot, when it's obviously the main focus.

Thanks for going the middle-school route and talking a bunch of mindless trash though.

I assumed, incorrectly, that you'd be able to take a little criticism. My apologies, I didn't mean to hurt your delicate feelings. I'm sure this shot will look grand on your mother's refrigerator door

Cheers

i forgot to respond to this LOL im not equipped just never under understood why anyone talks shit on photos i mean i have seen a lot of shitty photos its very rare i talk shit VERY RARE just never got why people had to take the time to comment on shit that way if you like it enough to mention something cool! if you hate it enough to comment good too always good to evoke something that is the point of art right? by the way hdr if you have done one hrd or add / subtraction in your work basically anything other than taking the picture correcting it and posting it its no longer a photograph my opinion.. hdr is graphic art not so much photography ya dig? the moniker hdr king was meant more of the idea that you have a Very different approach to photography than i do get it right the first time buy a grad nd filter get it right in camera one frame or dont call it photography im not nescicarily right or wrong here its an opinion of mine unfortunately that your type of "photography" is something for retarded computer geeks get out in the streets take some photos learn to do it right the first time its cool ur a pretty decent graphic artist and an average "photographer" good for you when you realise the rule of thirds is a guideline ( yeah its a strange framing) exposed properly at iso 1600 or 8 i forgot it looks like shit but its still a great photo the more you talk shit the more i realise why i hate retarded computer nerds that think their photographers seriously man get a clue thats as good of a focus you can get on the lens given the conditions so seriously man get a clue you work looks like my 13 yr old cousins hers is much better atleast its original and interesting seriously man take better photos and then u can talk some shit ok?

I tried to make it all the way through this, but honestly the butchering of the English language made it difficult to figure out exactly what you were trying to say. I'm not saying that as a jab ... I honestly have no idea what you're on about.

One thing I do understand is that you don't like HDRs. However, I'm not sure what this ignorant blanket generalization has to do with me, specifically. Less than half the work in my gallery are HDRs. Just because you can't tell the difference isn't my problem. Maybe you should reevaluate your "knowledge" of correct exposures?

I also don't see the point in acting like you're some kind of purist. If you shoot digital and edit in Photoshop you've already gone into the realm of "retarded computer nerds." Pretending you're a traditionalist only makes you look like a poser.

BrandonRechten In reply to dskphotography [2009-10-07 20:15:08 +0000 UTC]

I'm not calling it that, that's just how it is. Everyone in the photography industry knows that wedding/event photography is the bottom rung ... it's no secret. But whatever dude, if that's what you've got to do to keep food on the table. I guess it explains the superiority complex, at any rate.

By the way, I never said your photography sucks. I made a few critiques about this photo in particular, and your ego couldn't handle it, so you freaked and started bashing my photography like a whiny drama queen. Then things went from there...

A very influencial photo, great work!
Why is it that teenagers can get married but Gay couples cant? Its becuase of all the influences that normal people get from the 'higher-ups' and other closed sources... So what? Live life as you want to, not by how others push-upon you.

if that didnt make sense...sorry

Ya know, I was gonna say that they could have gotten more lighting on the subject's face, but then I thought about it, and actually it works with the statement of the photo. It's as if she's fading into the background; her wishes being forgotten and overlooked.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

txteclipse In reply to SRudy [2009-07-20 04:27:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I would, if that were the case (which the photographer has made clear isn't). I'm of the opinion that DDs should be chosen for the effort and talent that went into creating the piece, not because the administrator wants to push a certain agenda.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dskphotography In reply to txteclipse [2011-01-16 10:49:05 +0000 UTC]

were you there taking photos?.. then shut the fuck up?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

txteclipse In reply to dskphotography [2011-01-16 13:12:24 +0000 UTC]

How does that matter, precisely? My problem is that, no matter how poor or excellent a given piece of art is, it is more prone to being awarded a DD if it pushes an idea that an administrator agrees with. The art doesn't matter, the message does. That's not okay, especially on a website that professes to be about art, not politics.
