This was inspired by searching DeviantART for G/E pics and finding SO many Elisagoyle pics with people talking about how great it'd be if she stayed that way permanently. This is how I feel about that.This is technically my first G/E pic here on DA. Time to celebrate! I'm also celebrating that the pic is FINALLY done. I worked on it for two years!
Told ya I'd post something on Sunday! Oh, and another thing... That first panel took FOREVER!!!

It has always bothered me when people say it would be better if Elisa had remained a gargoyle somehow, but this comic perfectly encapsulates how I feel about that. Elisa being made into a gargoyle may have opened Goliath’s eyes to how he felt about her, but Elisa, as she is is who he loves, just as Elisa loves Goliath just as he is.

I disagree that Elisa or Goliath swapping species (although I admit to preferring Elisagoyle to Human!Goliath) is somehow devaluing the relationship of the two.
(Yes, GregXB, I know what Greg Weisman said, you've been smacking anyone who disagreed with you over the head with it and calling them douchebags, lemme alone...)
What I feel this pic illustrates is that Goliath doesn't feel like he NEEDS to choose. He probably wouldn't MIND if Elisa were a gargoyle, but human, gargoyle, or whatever, it is Elisa Maza that he is in love with.
Love transcends species. This pic embodies that. He doesn't need Elisa to be a gargoyle, because his love for her will be the same no matter what.

Yeah, it made sense to me. But it's not only about love transcending species; it's also about not having to change who you are in order to be with the person you love. Their species is a fundamental part of their being. That's why I had Goliath choose human Elisa. It's whom he fell in love with: the detective, with a job, a family, friends, and everything else that comes with being human. And Elisa loves Goliath: the gargoyle, stone by day, warrior by night, and everything that comes with being a gargoyle. You can't change their species without changing them. Yes, love transcends species, to the point where one of them doesn't need to change for the other.

In what way sad? Because I see it as very beautiful, that they are so in love that even the great difference in their genetic structure gets in the way of it. Goliath loves Elisa for who she is, not what she is, what's so sad about that?

This very romantic and sweet. I used to watch this show when it was at the peak of its popularity back in the 90s. I remember Goliath mentioning that gargoyles age slower then humans and probably live longer as well. I think that he is already past his prime while Elisa was still very young when they met so they'd still have a lot of time to be together.

Goliath was biologically 29 years old in 1996 (58 in human years) and Elisa was 28. They were pretty much the same age when they met. But she'd grow older faster than him. Kinda sad... but that's life.

His stature and demeanor to me is kind of like a human in his mid 30s to 40s. The 3 younger gargoyles are more like teenagers, I think.

Actually, I read online that Goliath is 38 (gargoyles.wikia.com/wiki/Golia… read the "Age" section) , and that Elisa was 25 (I read that in a book I had as a kid; wish I still had it so I could reference it).

Goliath didn't hatch in 918. He hatched in 938. In 1996, he was 29 years old (58 in human years, and not counting the thousand-year sleep). Elisa was 28. Check out the official wiki. A lot of people work on it, including the show's writers. Here's the link: gargwiki.net/
And the merchandise didn't always get things right. I remember that one of the trading cards said that the gargoyles weighed one ton during the day, which is just impossible.

Yeah. I always noticed how everyone seems to want to beat him up in the series: Thailog, the Pack, Xanatos (before Goliath saved his son), Talon (before they became friends), Demona, Macbeth, etc... everyone just wants a piece of him!
Been reading more articles; it's fun reading about the comics and future plans. I really want to read the comics someday - AND I hope that someday the comics will be made into a TV series LIKE THEY SHOULD!!!!!!!!!! Ahem.

Why is it when I read this not only are they hilarious in most but I read: THIS TOOK FOREVER..... in what ways did it take the panel forever. I would really like to know more about what make a short comic take a long time to complete.
