Description Hmm... I've been holding this back for quite a while. I'm not really sure if it fits into my gallery.
I hope you still like it.

Seems as if I have some creative block right now. Everything I touch seems to turn out as sub-standard. I hope to get out of this mood soon.

Ah... I nearly forgot: comments (positive/negative) are very appreciated!

Changed the frame a bit. I hope it's better now.

If you like this image you might want to take a look at -dangerous passage . That image was taken in the same location.

my god dtobi!!!! thats awesome.. and to think you didnt know if you were going to submit!! well i'm certainly glad you did. The colours are vibrant, and i love how this is different from long exposure waterfall shots people take. and to think you didnt even use a tripod.. thats even more impressive.

on the subject of creative block, when i write music i often get that - my way around it is just try something totally different - something you've never done before, and just keep at it until you find that 1 piece that you are really happy with. it takes time, its frustrating but hey - it makes you work harder so it must be good! i gotta fav this i'm afraid mate

I'm really glad i submitted it. I hadn't expected that much positive feedback. I thought about doing something different.... but at the moment I got so much things to do... Maybe I'll just use the block to get some other things right!

Thanks for your comment

Hey, i feel so much energy here....

very nice comparrison between active (the waves) and passive (the rocks) forces of nature... the color balance is perfect!!
i like the way you put so much details on the rock,... it really add the quality! slow shutter also captured the waves very well...

well calculated shot....well done mate!

ok wow it has taken me entirely too long to comment on this! Sorry 'bout that!

I think this is a great piece and I don't know how you can say it doesn't fit into your gallery. It just adds to the greatness of it! At first the title kinda stumped me a little bit. I wasn't really sure what the opposite things were. Then I full viewed it and got an even better idea of the textures. I love how the soft, silky texture of the water contrasts with the rough, jagged surface of the rocks. I don't know if that's what you meant by 'opposites' but that's what I got out of it

Oh and I think it would be cool if you got a prints account too! I don't know if I'd be able to buy anything with my tight money budget but I bet a lot of people would! I hope you get over your block soon, I know how much those suck.

Great shot, as usual! ^_^

You don't have to apologize for late comments. It's up 24 hours now. Your comment is not late at all!!!!!

The title "opposite" refers to the difference between the solid and static stones and the fluid motion of the water. Soft-hard. Stone-Water.

I'll think about the print account, but I'm not sure if it was a good idea. The amount of money DA takes seems just too much. But maybe I'll try it out someday.

Applaus:

manaxmomo In reply to dtobi [2004-07-15 16:05:24 +0000 UTC]

Sehr viel besser.

dtobi In reply to manaxmomo [2004-07-15 11:22:21 +0000 UTC]

Is wirklich hübsch da!

Awesome shot! Just curious though... how did you make the water have that "soft" look to it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dtobi In reply to lostndazedone [2004-07-15 11:19:12 +0000 UTC]

I used a long exposure time. (I think it was almost a second). Had to lean against a rock because I had no tripod. I did aboutr 6 pictures of this rock. This is the only one which wasn't blurry.
