It’s a quiet Friday night so all I’ve really done is work on paintings and did a little sketching. I got ditched by my friends. The nerve!I kid, I kid. LOL
So I’ve been wanting to do some Ace Combat fan art for a while and figured I’d warm up with some sketching. I really loved ACE COMBAT 3: ELECTROSPHERE as the aircraft design in it was top notch to me. I love all the altered real world designs, but the made up planes were friggen awesome.
I wish they would remake the game on the PS3 or at least put some of the planes that were in it in the new Ace Combat that’s coming out. Here is my custom paint for my old faithful the “XFA-36A GAME”. It's mostly accurate to the design in the game but I had to make up some details. Hey it's a custom! Yeah, yeah....That's the ticket....I even geeked it out with my own crest! WOLF PACK BABY!!!
As it’s always on you to save the day in those games I felt the “ONE MAN WOLF” was fitting. Plus it was just funny as hell in THE HANGOVER and me and my friends still over quote that line still to this day.
Anyhow the strange "vector" logo design was borrowed from an Macross Valkyrie, but if anybody picked out that detail then you are bigger dork than I my friend. Plus it just looked cool to me.
Anyhow it’s all about the ELECTROSPHERE

Planes are kind of a pain in the ass to draw so it will be a while before I redraw that one man LOL

Aces should've put some XFA-36As in the SP02 mission of Joint Assault, primarily against Dizzy, or add Rena in the Night Raven too. Would've made it more fun. OR hell, maybe even have Nemo in a Typhoon or Flanker alongside Dision?

Yeah I still have to pick that one up, so when I do I'm sure I'll see what your talking about. I played Ace Combat X for the PSP and liked it alot. There were a lot of diffrent designs in that one as well but I just ended up playing the falken most of the time.

FALKEN is terribad on PSP compared to its console iterations. 5 and Zero's FALKENs are the better two.

I like 5's FALKEN slightly more, because the TLS reloads faster so that you can have a continuous beam. But the downside to that is it uses up its ammo too fast.

I agree. I loved AC3:E with its futuristic settings & craft designs. But unfortunately the US version had lot of stuff cut from the original Japanese version like anime styled cut scenes and possibly a few less noticeable things. AC3:E will always be one of my favorite Ace Combat games along with Ace Combat 5. Too bad I traded the game away when I was younger, I regret it now...
But judging by the looks of Ace Combat Joint Assault and the upcoming AC: Assault Horizon. Namco seem to be ditching the original futuristic/fictional ideas in favor of the world we live in. While I believe we will of course see some fictional original crafts like they always put into their Ace Combat games. Not to mention you'll be able to pilot an attack helicopter

Yeah I totally wanted the cutscenes left in. All I ever got to see of them was the opening if you held L1 and R1 or some such. They get all the good stuff! lol
