I liked this a lot more than I did initially. I liked the epic fire sequence at the end, I like Violette, even if she was really stupid (I’ll get to that soon), I like some of the humor (though a lot of it falls flat), and the ending was satisfying. However there are several problems and unfortunately, they’re not small. My biggest issue is that Violette, while likable and cute as well as charming and kind, was incredibly STUPID! The fact that she sent the letter to Charlie Brown and later said it was a mistake is such bullsh*t! Like she knows that the Barron doesn’t want people there and then she decides to tell Linus it was a mistake! STUPID! Some of the humor was also so unfunny, but that’s a little smaller but still worth mentioning. However, I like the other things about it, some of the humor was super funny, the climax is fun, and it has a lot of charm, but my god the flaws I have really bogs the film down a lot. Oh and also, the Barron’s plan is completely dropped, making it completely pointless!!!! Also where are Violette’s Parents? Are they dead?!?! Overall it’s a good film with Many flaws and is definitely the weakest of the Peanuts Feature Films. The first 2 acts are really good but the third act is just awful! I think with one more rewrite this could’ve been the best Peanuts feature film of the original 4, hell it could’ve been the best peanuts Product (other than Why Charlie Brown Why because nothing can top that), but it needed to have a BIG rewrite!
