While I was studying abroad in the UK, I had the pleasure of visiting Copenhagen with my family during spring break. Copenhagen is the home of the famous Little Mermaid statue and I was inspired to draw it with Ariel (Disney's Little Mermaid). As references I used the souvenir statue I bought in Copenhagen and the screenshot from the movie which pays homage to the statue. I added my own flair using the 'anime style' facial features. For her expression I wanted to convey both determination and longing/sadness. Any comments are welcome and helpful for future projects. Enjoy!
