I was chatting with a mate earlier today and I realised that of all the monks I've made theres a few subclasses that I haven't made characters for. Armed with this knowledge, I aimed to remedy that! XD

While researching, as a I looked through the Ascendant Dragon subclass in Fizban's, I got excited because the roleplay potential is huge.

I loved the idea of a monk who maybe wanted to learn the way of Elements, but for some reason weren't bale to complete their training under their previous tutelage.

Not accepting this outcome, they sought out other options and came across this dragon subclass allowing them to mess with elements in a similar though less profound way, it scratched that itch and unlocked a huge burst of energy and motivation within the character.
