Description Contrary to what most people believe, Anubis is not the god of the underworld in the Egyptian mythos. It is Seth who rules the world of the dead while Anubis is the god of embalment.

This is the drawing I posted months ago, this was the only time I had the chance to color it though. Photoshop over inked art. So here it is finally, Anubis from my brainchild - Hades Chronicles. Hope you guys like it.

Rason has the right definition here.

The order of the Gods has always changed. Anubis had other roles, then with mythology changing, other Gods were created.. Or.. Came along.. And other Gods were merged together.

Full version: At first, in old egyptian believes, Anubis indeed was the god of the dead, but later he became a lesser god, because he chose to step aside out of respect for Osiris. And did you know Seth was gay???

If I may say so... Doesn't it stand to reason that a gods purpose is determined by the people that worship the deity than the deity itself? We all agree that Set(h) and Anubis are 'dark' gods, and in recent years, we have assigned Anubis as the keeper of all the underworld and Set(h) as the god of chaos, creativity, or all out destruction and hostility depending on whom you ask. We also asign Osiris an equal share in ruling the Underworld.

Utterly unrelated to your work, given, but I think it's worth mentioning.
