The real problem is that when these over obsessed fangirls pair their OC with Shadow, they instantly change his character. Unlike Sonic, who has a lively, loving and caring character, Shadow is more of a badass "i dont care" sort. LoL there are some fan girls who r drawing them having CHILDREN with Shadow! Yeah you read it right, DRAWING THEMSELVES HAVING SHADOWS CHILDREN! OMFG, seriously! But amazing stamp, well done!

I don't hate it if the pairing makes sense. Nothing like Shadow is all googly over them or they are ,as Twilight-Kaizer said, basically Shadow 2.0 in girl form. I usually try to picture how he was with the only person he liked (weather it be love or like a sister) maria he was still distant and that, but he cared.

What if the relationship starts out normal, like any other normal person? Like what if Rouge introduced one of her friends to Shadow and secretly tried making them a couple and, slowly but surely, they'd become a couple? And, in my opinion, that girl would have to be pretty much a normal person with a personallity thats kinda patient so Shadow isn't always pissing her off. How bout that?

Yeah. I'm not big on romances, but for the sake of a storyline I have to put it in. Shadow is high in demand for a couple but none of the sonic characters are a good pair with him. So I made a character for him to be paired with.

If I was able too, I would like my fanfiction to be canon Sonic storyline, and I would want it to be an anime. I already treat the story as if it were and theres no favortism in it so the heroes in the story don't replace the original sonic cast.us

Yeah, the games should have more focus on gameplay than storyline although Sonic Next Gen storyline was incredible. (too bad the game itself was lacking)

Hey its alright to want things to be perfect, just remember that not everything is going to be.
I kinda second guess myself at times to. It CAN be helpful sometimes, but other times my second instinct gets the better of me.

Actually, it's VERY easy for me to keep the characters in my fanfiction in character. And I think I do a pretty good job. The trick is to think like the character, and never force the character to do things he/she would never do.

Yea thats what I usually would do, but its hard to tell what they would or would not do since I didn't make them cuz like Shadow could have a thing for brownies, but we'd never know that... I made my self giggle a little at that comment

I dislike ShadowxOC pairings, not only because of Mary Sues, but also because of that practically all OCs in that case are second ultimate life forms, Project Blah-Blah, created by Gerald for no particular reason, but it has more powers than Shadow, stronger and better than him etc. Because of that most fanfics with ShadowxOC pairing are pretty primitive and cliched. And a fail of course.
