You're right! I'm sure it's the contrast in the body and arm color. Changing the body color to be more uniform would have helped this piece immensely. I was not satisfied with this entry due to some reason, but I couldn't place it until thinking about it just now.
Thanks for the comment! I plan on returning to all of the Banjo baddies sometime to redo those I'm unsatisfied with, and to fix issues with other entries that I find.
