Description most of the art on my page is not mine, most are commissions from talented creators and i do not have the authority to lease them out for monetary gain. other images on my page are random stuff i found on the web that i thought was cool and cleaned up (these ones are credited in the title and are removed on request). the few pieces that i have made on my own are in the public domain by default, and everyone is free to use, redistribute, edit, and profit without explicit permission unless otherwise stated.

i get so excited seeing that notification pop up, thinking that it's one of my art frens getting back to me after weeks of radio silence about ongoing commissions, only for it to be some spammer saying "hi" and nothing else (you will not goad me into further communication, state your business or bugger off).

"but why don't you just block them?"

well deviantart allows only 200 accounts to be blocked, and i already ate through them all trying to block AI "artists" and insecure people who slap ugly watermarks on their art. i haven't even scratched the surface and i'm all out of blocks. i've even seen commercial entities use deviations as ad space. sadly, i don't have anywhere else to go to host my art besides paywalled sites like patreon, which are only for personal creations and not for my lovely commissioned works or rare finds. i don't want to use some cringy social media platform like instagram, twitter, or tumblr because these sites use lossy compression on uploads, and i wouldn't be able to upload large images like my GIF animations. i also don't want to deal with an algorithm hiding my work from fans and my politically extreme opinions (which i keep off of DA) have gotten me IP banned from these services anyway. i was thinking about gumroad but the paypal mafia made them go SFW, and patreon is already becoming vanilla with their ban on fictional noncon art.

i just don't know what to do, the internet is not a friendly place for artists or art enthusiasts anymore
