Description A little meme thing I made based on a meme with this screenshot I saw on DA a bit ago. I think it was someone saying 'Everyone's training a Vikavolt while I'm here training a Ribombee' - having an unconventional addition to your team that runs contrary to the most popular Pokémon to have - similar to most people I've talked to having chosen Rowlet as their starter, whereas I trained a Litten an Popplio.

Ignoring the design Salazzle has (which is a very cool design), and simply talking about using Salazzle in combat - while Salazzle does have a good type set (Poison/Fire IS quite a badass type combination) and some great abilities, she was never really a Pokémon that spoke to me saying 'Train this one!' like it did with some other Pokémon I choose in my games. For a while on Pokémon Moon, I had NO Poison MOVES, let alone Pokémon in my team, but after teaching Atonella, my Lurantis, Poison Jab to kick the butt of Lusamine's Clefable in her second fight, that was solved.

Good thing you don't fight lusamine's clefable in ultra sun/moon, as the fight is replaced with a boss fight against ultra necrozma.

I love both. I have a Salazzle named Mrs. Robinson and I'm currently trying to evolve my Fomantis Orchid into a Lurantis. But neither of these Pokemon can top my beloved Bewear.

To be honest - if I didn't have a Fire type already, I probably would have trained a Salazzle, but I wanted to make a more balanced team.

I understand. I usually don't use Fire types a lot, so I was excited to get Salazzle. Mrs. Robinson has helped me with a lot of battles. ^^

I wanted a Salazzle, but I picked Litten as my starter and had to settle with the Corsola Eater

I suppose part of the thrill of owning a Salazzle (at least for me) is it's ability Corrosion, making Salazzle a threat
even to poison and steel types. Eh, to each their own.

That being said, with Salazzle, i set up a very potent 2 hit combo that works pretty well. I start by using Toxic,
which blights the opponent with the badly poisoned status (they loose an increasing amount of HP every turn,
so unless they have a counter for it or a way to alleviate it, it's curtains for them) and then i finish up with
Venoshock which becomes twice as powerful when used on a poisoned opponent. If the opponent survives,
the effects of being badly poisoned usually finishes them off.

I think the fact Mareanie is near to IMPOSSIBLE to find was what turned some people off from training one - I remember how long it took to catch one myself...
